When was the last time something took your breath away?

I am a member of our local classic car club and we hold and attend car shows mostly in our local area. At a recent local car show I was wandering round the show with my camera, taking the odd photo of cars I like and not seen at a show before. When I see, what must have been a late arrival, a car that made me say loudly "Christine!" I was just so surprised it took my breath away. The owner confirmed it was a look a like of the same make, model and year of the car that starred in the film "Christine". A 1958 Plymouth Fury. A real American Film Star at my local car show.

A neighbor bought a 59 or 60 Fury about 4 years old. Big thing about it was the swivel drivers seat. Beautiful car, bright red two door. It didn't last long in Wisconsin winters.

I like the cars from the 1950s, they really are works of art, its sometimes surprising how many have actually survived, certainly all cherished now by their owners and used only in the summer time.

Yeah, they handled like oil tankers, but they were something to look at, not like todays cars.
