I thought I would ask here with so many people traveling, I will be going to Detroit, MI this July and I thought I would ask what is the good and bad there. I will be there for a convention for about a week, most days will be busy but I figure I will wonder around in the evenings to see what I can there. I am staying in a hotel by the river and the convention center so it looks like the down town area.

I know I can google it (which I have) but I don't know if those are just some articles written by a kid that got paid by those places or not...lol

Last time I was in Detroit a guy tried to sell me a "diamond" ring in the airport.

Only thing I can think of is the Mowtown museum 2648 Berry Gordy Jr. Boulevard, 2648 W Grand, The Ford museum and "Greenfield village". And I think the Ford plant or one of the other car plants may have tours. If you're into that kind of thing.

Be careful and have fun.

My hotel is just around the corner from the Ford Museum so that one should be easy. I will have to look the other ones up, Thanks
