Oh.. so much to say and so little time to say it..

I prefer someone who is in the middle/center.

Leah.. I'd take another look for yourself. He really isn't all that left.

As far as the dirt that has been discussed previous about him.. Most is at least exaggerations and fabrications.

One notable thing about him.. I've not found much credible evidence that he spends time slinging mud back at those who sling it in his direction. He pretty much stays on point and defends himself by discussing the issues. Not something you see every day.

Whatever happen to separation of church en state?

i wish we had a true separation of church and state, none of this religious pandering crap that goes on
Separation of church and state does not mean the void of religion in government. It means no religious establishment
There are many examples. I do agree with some of what both toasted and mrtxstar are both writing. I'll try to explain how that could be.

Our Founding Fathers did include some Christians.. but were not followers of any organised religion as a whole.
An interesting and fact based text on the subject which contains many quotes by several of the more celebrated 'Fathers'. http://www.barefootsworld.net/founding.html It is possible to find reference to all of these in the Library of Congress. If that does not satisfy your curiosity.. Google has many links to contradictory material that would raise a question in any Christian's mind who is resistant to brainwashing.

Toasted is right about our money. Yet I agree... any number of links would have been better to use, to successfully put off any claim of leftist propaganda.. This one is probably the least disputable I could find in a very cursory search. http://www.treas.gov/education/fact-sheets/currency/in-god-we-trust.html

I would think that many of our Founding Fathers would not only be turning but spinning in their graves to learn of the political maneuvering the Christian Fundamentalists have pulled off as of late. As Christians.. I can remember a time where it was alright to just participate in the political process... Now it seems as if we want to control the political process.. We do that by sheer numbers and placement of power. We also rewrite history, misquote scripture, legislate things that are not our business... Take advantage of the ignorance amongst us to advance political gain and power..... Forget the basic values written in the Bible such as 'Judge Not, Lest Ye Be Judged!' and 'Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother's eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye?'

I'm sorry to say it.. But... Our moral compass is broken.
-----------------------------------------------
Edwards? He doesn't stand a chance I'm afraid. He is not a bad guy.. very idealistic... But certainly is not the Statesman that will be standing there in the end.
-----------------------------------------------
I saved the best for last...
The Skinney:
I won't quote him. Those words did not deserve the light of day they have already been given.

The upside though?

Chances are.. he will not be successful here (or anywhere) in finding a date Which substantially reduces the risk of procreating. Otherwise.. he would make a great poster child for planned parenthood, if he really does believe what he writes and is not just trying to antagonize..

In that regard.. he is actually making a case for the left and is rendered pretty harmless in my mind.

I've noticed Edwards.I don't deal well with attack ads.If you cant state your case without mudslinging then you aren't worth a damn.

Can you explain that broad brush stoke? I'm not being disagreeable... but it is a hollow statement if it is not accompanied with more supporting substance.

i have found the stumping on both sides of the aisle pablum with the candidates spending most of their time just spouting meaningless platitudes rather than substantive discussions of the many serious issues we are facing...

i was merely expressing my disappointment and wanted to let the OP know that i was no more impressed with the Republicans than the Democrats.

This is what I have to say. I am almost 55 yrs old. I have been voting since I was 21 in 1976. I take it very seriously. Barack Obama is of Egyptian heritage. Ancient Egyptians were Aliens. Aliens from "outer space". Look at the man. His lips are blue, his color is not brown, more copper than brown, his ears are not normal. Call me a "Witch" or whatever. Somethings I "just know" and it has always been that way in my lifetime. I know this. These "Aliens" are going to try to take over the earth. I have no doubt. Yes, I voted for Bush in 2004. I voted for him because John Kerry is/was obviously inexperienced and influenced by the devil/satan. This man (Obama) appeared out of "nowhere". I do not trust him. You say this debate is turning racial. Okay. I will be honest. We are not ready for a black/african american president now. Let alone a total alien from another planet!! There is ABSOLUTELY a reason to play the "race" card in this election!! Maybe in my grandchildrens lifetime, but, not in mine. When we have a black President, he/she will be a Christian and not an alien with a foreign religious doctrine. I make no apologies for this, It just is so. I am disheartened to vote this year. McCain is a former Marine, which says UNSTABLE in a big way and he was a prisoner of war during Vietnam! Even more unstability.
Jimmy Carter, an unknown, got to be president because Gerald Ford, who was never elected President and was never a Vice President, because he pardoned Richard Nixon. Unthinkable, because of the Vietnam War and because he(Nixon) was involved in the assassignation of John F. Kennedy, along with Lyndon B. Johnson and J. Edgar Hoover and Watergate finished him (Nixon) off. Google Watergate.
We (the nation and the armed forces were totally embarrassed by the Carter Administration)(no liquor including wine served in the White House during his administration, as well as other peculiarities)
The other candidates are falderal and fiddle dee dee. Hillary Clinton is the only one who knows exactly what the issues are and how to go about running this countrys government. I will not see a Morman in office. His/their beliefs are totally fairy tale and have no basis in reality. This country was founded "of the people, by the people and for the people, one nation, under God." If we lose sight of that "freedom to worship" our God as we see fit without persecution, we are finished. Present your candidates. I am not sure what to do. I DO know what NOT to do. Do not hand over this country to Aliens from "outer space"! The "world" supposedly will end in 2012. I sincerely hope it does! I do not want to see what the future holds if this does not happen! I have no care or stake in this world, but, I will fight to keep these United States out of the hands of Aliens. The end. I will NOT debate this.

Okay then ....back to the candidates! Idaho will go Republican because that's what we do! So as far as the Republican candidates go I heard a bit of mention about McCain, although I am thinking it was sarcastic. I would really like to hear opinions on the worst of the evils in this department. I truely believe that none of the Republicans are Aliens (although some of them may be better served if they were.)laugh laugh
