I am ready to buy a car like Fred Flintstone had with the hole in the bottom of the car so he could use his legs to power the car. My luck the price of sneakers would skyrocket!!!laugh

laugh laugh I'd like to see more alternatives be available. There was a program on TV about a month ago that was about alternative powered cars. They had the usual solar, ethanol, and electric, but there was also a hydrogen powered car and one that ran on "fuel" made from processed parts of other cars. No more junk yards!

Kiss those days bye-bye. You can always tell when the people around here (central Ohio) get their ss checks or whatever cause the gas prices go up at least 10 cents a gallon...usually change them on Thursday too....just to make your weekend a little more enjoyable LOL.....It's a great life if ya don't weaken.

Actually gas is cheaper then the whole world. Its more in line with inflation now.

Example: In 1980 the average income was 7$ an hour, gas was $1.09. Now average income is $25 an hour. So the income has gone up 3.57x. So $1.09 x 3.57 is $3.90 per gallon. Heck, people pay $10 a gallon for bottled water where I work. A carton of milk, 8oz. is 65 cents, thats $10.40 a gallon.

Buy a car that gets better MPG and stop complaining. People that drive a long distance to work can buy a new subcompact for $10-$14k and the gas savings will more then pay for the car payment. SORRY, Just the facts.....

My license was suspended for a year, so I had to walk. I got my license back about a month ago, and I'm thinking about selling my car already. I seriously saved HUNDREDS of dollars by NOT driving.

With the cost of car insurance and the cost of gas, it's not worth it for me.

Actually, in my little corner of Pa. there are very few $25/hour jobs available. Take it easy, we're discussing -- maybe belly-aching a little.
