Yes elastic bands split the hair . Hair should be conditioned each time it is washed and hair masks 2× a month .

 My hair is to my bum, so I like to keep it up in a scrunchie ponytail or messy bun at home. Out I normally strengthen my hair and leave it loose. i have shoulder lenght long layers hair with tints i like it up or down or half up. i like having the choice . i think it's a personal thing but useful if in a rush to put up in a ponytail . i admire any women who has very long hair maintaining it myself as older wouldn't have that long . i love scrunchies and clips , straight or tossled look .
