The Romans did not require subjects to return to their ancestral homes to be counted, they made them return to their present homes - possibly Nazareth in Jesus' case. Also Quirinius wasn’t appointed as the governor of Syria until Jesus was six. And at the time when Jesus was supposedly born, Herod had been dead for four years.

I could remember my uncle who got dressed up wearing a red nighty of my aunt, he applied a thick layer of white colored powder on his face along with a bright red lipstick, he held a bunch of balloons in his hands and he ran all over the house singing jingle bells very loudly. Myself n my cousins were in a seperate room playing carroms, we heard a weird voice n came out to see him running all around n wishing us n even pulling us to play ring-a-ring-a roses which made us laugh n enjoy with him..that was a funny incident I remember during my childhood 🥰
