I went to see my momma today, I have not been to see her since September. We had a great visit. She is in a nursing home because of strokes she had in 2006. She has short term memory loss and can't walk. She was so HAPPY to see me as I was to see her, (she is like a little child). The first thing she said to me was "You need to curl your hair, its all stringy." I laughed I thought it was funny. The boys and I stayed with her till after lunch cause maw has to have her naps. lol I wanted to share my day with all of you and I hope everyone is having a Great Day.

I am so sorry, I lost my daddy in 2000

yes and it was very tought to put her in a nursing home. I had to clean out her apt. and that is the hardest thing I ever had to do.

Honey, that is great.even though your mom has short term memory loss, your visits mean so much to her. Yes at times she may be like a little child, mom still remembers you.

My mom had a devasting stroke in 1976. We had a lot of great visits with her, yes at times she also was like a little child. But I have my memories of her. I lost my mom in dec. 1979.

Last year a week before Christmas my wife had a devasting stroke. My wife and I were close. Her becoming ill because of the stroke made us stronger and closer. I lost my wife on Jan. 29,2007. I miss her more and more everyday.

I guess what I am trying to tell you, is to enjoy your mom no matter what the circumstances of her illness dictate at times.Because believe me, someday you are going to look back and see the memories of your mom. even through her illness, you will remember the good times.

I am so glad you, the kids and your mother had a great visit. My Mommie has been gone for 11 years and even though she lives in my heart....I would love to wrap my arms around her and hear her voice agian...

Take advantage of all the love you both can share while she is here because you never get over when they are gone, just learn to live with it......

I am so happy that you went to see her and she was happy to see you, hold on to that and know that you are LOVED!

I didn't want her to know I was coming so it would be a surprise, she was very surprised. It was great and yes, I will remember every moment we have together. Thank You.

Had a great New Years Eve. I was with my son and his girlfriend, at a private party at a bar we go to. Then came home to have a couple of drinks with my 24 year old nephew and my 35 year old niece. We all had a great time.
