Six years isn't much when you get older but when you are in your late teens and twenty's, there are just some things that are different between you. Maturity levels are different and what you want out of life may change as you get older.
I understand what your saying but, maturity isnt derived from age.

I can understand that.....my ex was six years older than me when we married but it turned out that when the responsibity came of being an adult taking care of bills and a home, he took off and ran back to his mom.

Just be sure you know yourself and what you can handle and see if she has a problem with it. If she is making a big deal over it, she isn't comfortable and you won't be able to convince her. Good luck to you!flowerforyou

I usually go for the older men, like in there 40 or so. But have a hard time trying to go out with somebody younger then myself. Shocked a lot of my friends with my current boyfriend. He is actually the same age as me.

I shock my friends when I date someone that is actually my age or a little bit older. I don't know why, but I have always been attracted to the younger ones!! HMMM such a bad girl I am!!

As you get older the age difference is not as significant. More important are a match in energy level and spirit. Some are old before their time. Worn down by life. However, I agree that 6+ years is a significant difference for younger people. It's a question of life experience and frame of reference.
Well, the 6 years was just a random # thrown out there. Reason I asked is becasue I'm 19, but I have nothing in common with other 19 year olds. I don't drink, I don't party, I have a full time job, ect. Thus girls my age think I'm lame, and older ones wont give me time of day. I hope that came across correctly
LOL i get what your sayin but still even if your 19 if you got the maturity and you match with the women dont let any age stop you..only thing you might find awkward is maybe being older then her son but hey lol

You know it use to be just fine IF the man was older, no one thought a single thing about it!! Now if you look around, its a lot of the women that go for the younger men!! I say HEY if it works out...go for it!!
I think in todays world we shouldn't have to answer to anyone, we should be able to do what works for each one of us!! I think the younger men enjoy the older women...thats a plus for us older women

I agree I don't let it stop me, but if a girl was 24-26, she is the one that has an issue with it, and its petty common I've found

There's someone out there for you ZStar.....the New Year brings plenty of joy for people and I think you're in the right place to find someone. You seem to have a good heart and personality. Who cares if 19 year old girls think you're weird for not drinking or partying. I think that is a great quality to have. Let them become alcoholics and knocked up at 19 at a party one night, THEN the true test begins to see how mature they REALLY are!! P.S. I hope I did not offend anyone about the alcoholic and knocked up section of my comment....was not my motive.....

i find age to be just a number. Though i try not to find girls who are younger than me it is more a maturity thing than a age thing. I find myself to have more things in common with women who are my age or older.

very common and alot of women do enjoy younger men for the fact that they may have that maturity but can also act like a kid and have fun and be serious when need be

I think whats going to be hard for you is this...you are 19 and not allowed to go into the bars yet. I think a lot of the younger people like to go out to the bars and maybe thats why they won't date you?? I think once you hit 21 you will find that the age factor won't be so bad.
Don't worry, you have plenty of time to worry about dating and settling down. I read your profile and I think you have a great plan going!! Worry about your education and then worry about women!! Keep up your plan and you will do just fine flowerforyou

Not in alot of states, including VA. Legal age of consent here is 15 with a stipulation, that the 15- 17 year old party be within 5 years of the same age & over 15. Also, 16 & 17 year olds can have relations with someone older than that provided parental or guardian consent. A 16 y/o with a 20 y/o would be within the limits of the law here;^]
