Same way POF has gone. Used to be totally free but gradually making it subscription by limiting the amount of messages you can send and likes ect. Just so you have to pay to subscribe. Might as well join Match.com. This site has jumped on the bandwagon to get you to purchase coins.

Copied from previous thread.

Just got a response from Mingle2 after I asked them what this coin update is, exactly, via the Contact Us, option.

As for your concern, we would like to confirm that our app is free. We provide users with the basic feature to chat and talk freely after matching. The two users are matched if they both send "Hi or "Like" to each other. This way, the users can rest assured that they both are interested in each other.

There are some ways for you to get free coins in our app. You can receive free coins by logging in the app, uploading your profile video, and inviting friends. Free coins are limited to 2000. The daily free coins will be added after 24 hours from the last time you received the free coins.

This is for free not upgrade people. The issue with the double 'like' that becomes a match is that you don't see 'clearly' who likes you (not for free anyway), while you can try to find it if the person is online with the blurry photo and the first and last letters of their name it is at beast a 505 chance. So you have to rely on your own search to find profile you like independently of what others are doing and send a 'like' they also can try to find you with the blurry picture and letters but it seems they made it a very honest site which is to do search or who's on line search, look at profiles and hope someone likes you then you will have a 'match' and free messaging is unlimited with that person. I hope I made it clear. The coins thing is for about one message/day (it takes 15coins to contact a person that would not have been already liked you). So if you see someone you want to message, first send a 'like' and if that person has already 'like' you, you will receive a message from Mingle saying more or less that you are now match and can message that person. If you don't receive that message from Mingle you can use some of your 20free coins. If you come every day (24hrs) I think you get another 20coins free, I used mine yesterday so I was left with 5 coins so today I'm up to 25.

Thanks Robin, I did rambled a lot, I still hope many people will understand it. The approach will still have some negative impact. If you just want to send a compliment or being friend, your possibility will now be very limited and nil when you reach that 2000 free coins.

Does buying coins apply to the ladies too? On various other sites, the women don't pay. Also, I wasted 20 coins on a woman who turned out to be a scammer so how will m2 deal with them?

If you look at other platforms they want 60$ a month, and even then you get popups in the middle of convos, and theyre still limited. This site is a good bang for its buck.

Hang out and wait they refill. They're giving lifetime membership for about 100$ FOREVER, I mean you cant beat that with a stick.

It to limit communication from dishonest people trying to scam them, common sense. Its hard to scam as many people when you can only talk to 5 people a day...

Think about it, what's good and free in life?
And how are they supposed to pay their staff ( Im sure many who are doing this without pay) And pay server costs, update costs, IT. And all the rest?
I dont even see a popup in my face every 10 minutes, and thats for a paid subscription on other sites at $60 a month.
