Topic: Donald Trump apologize?

From the article "Rep. Tom Rice (R-S.C.) in an interview broadcast on Sunday said he would consider supporting former President Trump again if Trump apologies for the Jan 6, 2021, attack at the Capitol."

What kind of person would make such an idiotic statement?

Oh, R-S.C., I guess that answers my question.

Extra salt and butter on mine please.

From McDougal v. Fox News Network, LLC, No. 1:2019cv11161 - Document 39 (S.D.N.Y. 2020):

"Fox News first argues that, viewed in context, Mr. Carlson cannot be understood to have been stating facts, but instead that he was delivering an opinion using hyperbole for effect. . .

This "general tenor" of the show should then inform a viewer that he is not "stating actual facts" about the topics he discusses and is instead engaging in "exaggeration" and "non-literal commentary."

Fox persuasively argues, see Def Br. at 13-15, that given Mr. Carlson's reputation, any reasonable viewer "arrive[s] with an appropriate amount of skepticism" about the statements he makes."

:100:!

And if they don't like our sources, they can Google themselves, there's plenty more on the subject.

Bart, I really think you're a good person & I pray you stop watching fox, JUST SAY NO! please? :kissing_heart:

Thank you Pump, but with all due respect please save your prayers cause you couldn’t pay me to watch the liberal news networks . I’m not so much for Trump, I am for truth and justice. The liberal media and our democrat leaders are the epitome of double standards and deceit . Because of their hatred for Trump and his supporters everything they report is reported in such a bias angle to make trump look bad. Trump labeled them fake news and I agree. Why do people watch certain news channels? I would say because you trust what your hearing. Well if that is right than who is the most watched cable news, that would be Fox… #1 is The Five 3.68 million viewers ea, episode, #2 is Tucker Carlson 3.62 million and the next 8 are Fox New shows .. the liberal networks don’t show up till about # 12. Not much trust in fake news. Nobody wastes their time watching. :fishing_pole_and_fish:

I see, you are bias, how disappointing.
You've already made up your mind because of what Fox news tells you, that's too bad.
I can't comprehend how you think it's real news & yes all those other far right people.
I'll pray for country then, afraid to watch and find out the truth. They interviewed his daughter and his friends, are you saying when they are praising him, liberals made them say that? Ofc not, because they said the truth as they saw it. Are you saying that the female police officer made up all that? She's liberal to all the footage was doctored? Oh that's right, you didn't see it, you refuse to watch it.

Nvm, idk if we ever agreed on anything but fishing, why start now.

3.6 mill out of 300 mill. Not quite a majority.

It's not that most folks are watching Fox. It's that most people with brains are not watching much main stream TV news at all. They're watching netflicks, surfing the net, or are too busy living their lives to watch news programs at all. Or, they are reading books and newspapers. Something a lot of Fox viewers should try.

So your definition of a smart person is somebody that watches Netflix or surfs the web, lol. Ok. My point was where the most people that are interested in what’s actually happening in this country get their news, when they can tear theirselves away from Netflix ‘ is Fox News . Personally I don’t care what anybody here believes, but I know what I believe and that is this country, under this president is closer to a nuclear war than ever before, under this president inflation is at a 40 year high. Under this president we are paying more than ever for gas and everyday essentials, under this president people are less safe in big cities than ever before because of crimes going unpunished by liberal DAs and never condoned by this president . Under this president illegal immigration and drugs flowing into this country more than ever and nothing serious being done about it, just a big cover up. Under this president more people are dying from fentanyl drug ODs because our president does nothing about it. Under this president our Supreme Court justices are being harassed and threatened to rule in favor of democrats. That isn’t how it’s done… you don’t have to believe me but you can believe all the folks that express their dismay for this president… 32% approval rating across the board.

I don’t believe trump won. I do believe there was much fraud that was not seriously investigated . Not enough evidence could be found to convince the Secretary of State to stop the proceedings until there could be a Unbiased investigation. But unfortunately Joe Biden is the president and now we all get to feel the pain of his failures.

Dude you need to reread your high school civics book. The president is not a monarch. He does not control the economy. He is not responsible for high gas prices. Look at the profits of the energy companies. The president does not control immigration policy or the enforcement of it. Look to your elected republican controlled congress. The president does not control drug enforcement policy. Again look to your republican controlled congress. The president does not control the supreme court, or some nut bag with a gun outside of a justices' home. The president is only a check on laws that your congress passes.

And the secretary of state is not in charge of domestic voting laws. He/she is responsible for international relations.

your right, this president can’t control anything, he say it every day “ I can’t do anything about this or that. It’s funny all the other presidents were able to keep a handle on most of the problems facing us now. You say he doesn’t have the power to fix anything but he sure had the power to f—k everything up. And BTW the republicans don’t control congress . That’s another reason everything is f’d up. The democrats have the majority.

Uh, better recheck your figures.

Currently the Senate is divided 50 Dems vs 50 Reps.

The Dems hold a slim majority in the House; 220 Dems vs 208 Reps. But the Reps use the filibuster rule to stop any legislation proposed by the Dems.

50 to 50 doesn’t give the republicans control It’s even. You must be looking into the future when the democrats lose both houses. Than the president will be a lame duck president and the democrats can rest easy knowing he can’t do much more damage to that party than he already has.

From Politico, 13 June 2022:

"The Jan. 6 select committee's case that former President Donald Trump stoked a violent insurrection rests on a fundamental premise: Trump was endlessly told, over and over, that his claims of election fraud were false. And he amplified them anyway."

Granted, people who worship Trump will continue to do this:

3rd World kangaroo court, no one to represent defendants. .. so why watch, we know the ending. Trump bad , his supporters racist… but nobody cares. It’s at the bottom of concerns by voters. Where’s the prime time hearing on the outrageous gas and food prices caused by Biden’s policies. That and the border fiasco is what people are worried about, not a protest at the Capitol . Most Americans have forgotten that protest. What they do remember are the BLM and antifa riots in 2020.

Maybe you have forgotten the Capitol riots, but don’t project that onto the millions of others that do care about that. If a group of militants came in from another country and did that, maybe even you would care. Just because it was American citizens doesn’t make it just a protest. Consult the proud boys and oath keepers if you need to understand their objective.

Yea, if it was a invasion I would care . And thank God we have guns for the citizens to protect ourselves. But what happened on Jan. 6 was several pissed off people let their anger get the best of them and without much thought or rational they set their sites on the place to best express that anger , the Capitol. In their mind the politicians were responsible for the new but still unconstitutional voting law changes. And they felt cheated. To protest is a natural response when felt cheated.. ..an insurrection requires a method to give a upper hand. Guns would be that upper hand, none were used by the protesters. There was assaults but no way was that fiasco a planned insurrection.

So the proud boys founder pleading guilty to conspiracy and assault on Jan 6 and that the group’s goal was stopping the government from carrying out the transfer of presidential power is all incorrect because you say so? It was understood from discussions that the Proud Boys would pursue their objective through the use of force and violence.

ok, so lock up the the ones that admitted to that, but the proud boys or who ever they are didn’t then and don’t now speak for the US government. But that’s a far cry from Trump and the majority of the protesters wanting to actually take over the government. In every basket 🧺 f peaches you will find a few rotten ones. I'm still bemused, that many people on "both" sides
of the political spectrum, believe there's any
actual difference between our two main political
parties.
