FINALLY Jurassic World Dominion is going to be released! This summer, June 10.
I just watched the trailer, looks very promising :)
And a nice touch to get Sam Neil & Jeff Goldblum back in.

I have high hopes for this film.
JW2 started to darken.
I liked Battle at Big Rock.
Hopefully JW3 will be more in line with the horror story Michael Crichton intended.

I am aware that the studio and production company must release a product which appeals to a large audence because of the costs involved, it gives the JP/JW a family appeal...BUT...

To see a big budget dinosaur horror movie would be a real treat.
Plus, I hope they change that gawd-awful theme music.

Regardless of its dumbing down for wide distribution and the PG rating, I too am looking forward to it. Tho It should be shot with an intention of an R rating. I mean dinosaurs attacking and eating people was always intended to be horrific. Making it family friendly kinda ruins the intention.

I don't need it to be a horror movie at all.
I see all JP and JW movies as being about the bigger message: DON'T mess with the natural world and natural order of things as it will go seriously awry! Basically what Jeff Goldblum said in JP1:
"Your scientists were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they didn’t stop to think if they should."

I think that's a far more important -and powerful- message than making it into meaningless blood dripping-horror. I wouldn't be interested in that in the slightest.
Plenty of gory movies around if you're looking for that.
I think with this last movie it's going to be quite the similar message as all the Terminator movies in which we also have ruined our own world, again scientists.

As for the music... I like them bringing back the original theme music, they did that beautifully when the two kids found the original compound halfway through JW1. Just a very brief moment to hear that music. And of course this Larry dude wearing an original JP T-shirt he said he bought at Ebay.
I like those references :)
Another thing I love is when they end with T-rex being king of the dino world with his roar. That really wraps it up nicely.

In any case, a movie to look forward to!

As far as I'm concerned I don't need or want social instruction in plainly a horror movie.
I want a horror movie to be horrific.
It doesn't need to make statements on the human condition, enough movies already ram that stuff in ya.
Its supposed to be horrific and savage.

The book takes a much more violent approach, filling the story with much more tension and darkness than the film, as well as far more graphic depictions of the blood, violence, and gore that accompanies a dinosaur-based death.

I'm with Tom on this. It is supposed to be horrific and savage. I want the dinosaurs to eat the bad guys.

LOL
I want dinosaurs that eat everyone.
A lion, a tiger, a shark doesn't descriminate, why would a dinosaur?

I never had interest in these movies.

It became a big hit when my kids were kiddies. My son loved it! So did I and my then husband. We saw the 1st movie in theatre even, first time we went in years!
I never stopped loving the movies, all of 'em. And I've seen all of 'em quite the many times hihi.

Happened to see another trailer of Jurassic World Dominion, and damn, I so can't wait!!
Just over a month before it hits the cinemas, meaning I will either have to go there for the first time in years OR wait forever for it to be available online.
Not sure if I am patient enough for that though, hihi. It's been such a long wait and this one especially looks very promising!
Bummer is that I know I will end up crying at some point and then I'll feel awkward in theatre.

So cool...! I am do excited too, Crystal. There is no other way to watch these films other than on the silver screen.
I would do anything to watch the first one on the big screen. 90's Jeff Goldblum would be a treat.

I agree in a way, but for myself not sure about going to theatre yet.

I did see the 1st one on silver screen back in the 90s. Our children were still quite young, I think my mother was baby-sitting them.
Cos of the kids we always kept volume low when watching movies, and then in theatre with speakers all around, volume much higher... I will NEVER forget the first time T-rex roared, haha.
Wouldn't surprise me if my hair was literally blown back by it laugh

What I've seen in the trailer I posted last is that Blue has a baby raptor and isn't so nice anymore to Owen when baby is missing.

When I first heard they were going to get the old cast back in too I didn't think it was a great idea, except for Jeff Goldblum as he's been in basically all movies anyways.
But in the same trailer it actually seems to pan out really well, making me even more excited about seeing it!

Now I can only hope the movie is a longer one. I haven't checked that yet.
And I think this is going to be a DVD box investment for me at some point. Something I NEVER do, but these movies are worth it!
