the way you grabbed onto him
before he was ever gone
the way you watched & listened
lurking & whispering
you were always there.

right now,
there must be something missing
because even though you have him
you never left us alone
you came out of the shadows
with your devilish grin
the cat who ate the canary
what a way to win....

when I cover your eyes
& close up your ears
you shout with all that you have
to anyone who will hear
as you plead your cause
what is it that you want
that you don't already have?
my life? my son?
...or my total annihilation?

you came in like a flood,
but the One who sees all
has raised up a standard
that you should not cross
smoke & mirrors won't work
you can't make a fool out of God

what motivated you to post your poems today?

just created my account and was going through some notebooks.

just felt like it I guessed also, had struggled with some depression recently and it helps me to write it out and read it.

WHEN MY ENERGY LEVEL GETS LOW AND I START TO GET

DEPRESSED WHAT I DO IS I DO SOMETHING FOR THE

LITTLE BOY INSIDE ME THAT WILL BOOST HIS

SPIRIT....ITS

NURTURING THE CHILD IN ME....I DID NOT HAVE A

NURTURING PARENT AROUND WHEN I NEEDED ONE AS A

CHILD...I GREW A NURTURING PARENT INSIDE ME...

WE CAN ALL DO THAT.....
