Topic: Romantic Vs Psycho

Since I have seen the topic of Romance ideas, I would like to bring up another issue... Psycho! This day and age, it is hard to do romanitc things without coming off the wrong way. For instance... I was watching a movie where this dude was stalking this girl. A woman was like "That is sooooo romantic! Waiting outside in the rain for her to get off of work, and finding out all this stuff about her to leave her gifts!" and I was like "How do you know he isn't trying to stalk her and kill her? Or even kidnap her?!".

Sometimes people cannot tell the difference. If you have ways to help, maybe you can post them here so that none of our fellow friends end up on a milk box. Thanks for your support to help keep online dating, and just dating in general safe. LOL And yes, my appearance is no exception... I KNOW! laugh

Oh and um..... Happy New Year. I wanted to say more but I am at work and can't think of anything right now. Ssssshhh... The Simpsons Movie is on.

I happen to disagree! I think it is still easy to be romantic when you are enchanted by someone. Being considered a psycho or stalker is when you are told there is not a mutual interest but still continue.

I understand that concern. There use to be something known as "common sense". Unfortunately, it does not seem to be "common" anymore. huh

Anyone MUST use an amount of caution with ANY stranger..period.

As in your example, very true, could have been a very bad situation.

There has been times when I ask a woman many questions. Like "what's your favorite color?"..and she may respond "why?" That to me is an automatic they are "too cautious". I ask because I want to find out about her, her likes, her dislikes, etc. so if something good develops, then I do know how to give her good surprises to keep the relationship "interesting" and not let it get old and boring. But as in asking "what's your favorite color" and they respond "why?", I mean come on, like maybe i'm thinking of a special color handle of knife to use!!?? NO!! It's just a simple question to help get to know that person.

So EVERYONE, both male and female, needs to use common SENSE. You can usually figure out who is "psycho" and who is "romantic". drinker smokin

Okay, so is it alright to stake out a female who shows somewhat interest, and then shoot them with a low grade tranq. Blind fold them, take them to the top of a mountain where you hand feed them chocolate covered strawberries, kiss their lips, take off the blindfold and ravage them like you spent 12 years in a federal state prison? I am just wondering... LOL

Now I didn't say all that. I think if the girl shows interest it would be okay to find out what she likes and dislikes. I doubt anyone would think it was romantic to want to cause harm.

I think that stalking only comes in when a girl shows a tiny bit of interest, then disappears, without even telling the guy that she has decided that she is no longer interested. I think if people could be more direct, then most things would not happen. But too often, instead of just saying "I'm not interested," most women just stop talking completely with no explanation. This drives men crazy! So I think the whole mating and dating game is often just a lot of nonsense.

What about when this behavior works, the girl later decides she doesn't want to be with the guy (assuming it was all acceptable before when she was interested) and then he becomes a stalker? Is there not similar behavior in all this?

Stalking is a newly popular term for harrasment. The major differance between stalking and harrasment, is that with harrasment, there is (generally speaking) no intentions of harming the person. it islike premeditated murder versus negligent homicide. With premeditated, you planned everything with the goal of murder in mind. With negligent homicde, you could be holding up a party store at gunpoint and accidently kill someone. You did not necessarily mean to kill but you did so anyway.
So, with stalking it is evident that you are intentionally intending to increase the issue step by step, until you get whatever it is you want (with no thought or care for the other person). With harrassment, you are simply not listening to the other person telly ou to bug off.

Like a lot of issues in todays society, people tend to automatically jump to the extreme, without looking to see if there was something else going on first.
We all need to just step back, and relax and try to be friendl and help one another more often.

How about this.....

You meet a girl/guy (you choose) and things seem cool. You don't talk for a few days and send a quick email saying hi. But, at the end you write for sheets and giggles "miss me?" Why does THAT freak people out???
