From what I've read about them,
A very good breed of dog. Though, I've yet to be privileged enough to have any. |

What have you heard about them? and what do you like about them?

What have you heard about them? and what do you like about them? What I've read, is that they were bred to be hunters and protectors. Yet, very tolerant, and make great family dogs. Though, given the large size, they're probably most suitable in a larger than average yard. 70 to 90 pounds for an adult male. |

The first time I saw a Rhodesian Ridgeback was 50 years ago as my neighbour had one. It had a great temperament and was very friendly. It was a pet and lived with 3 children under the age of 10.

Another breed that can be a good dog given the right breeding, the right training, and handled by the right person. But like Pittys, Rots, and a few other breeds has been adopted as a sign of "machismo" by too many of the wrong people.

One of my little street dogs was/is a natural hunter (not the trained disciplined kind). She had survived for years on the street and clearly knew how to ambush hunt, as I learned after taking her in. Unfortunately, she managed to train another in the art.
