A pic is like a first impression. Then the profile adds to it. I don't trust a profile with no pics. It makes me wonder what are they hiding? Married man who doesn't want to be caught?

Or maybe a separated woman who doesn't care if she's caught? ;)

People who don't want to put a photo of themselves up on a dating site shouldn't really be on a dating site. You don't go into a pub hoping to meet someone wearing a bag over your face either, do you?
People want to see what you look like, quite the normal human thing. Not only to see if someone's looks are okay with us, but also for normal socialising part. A face, facial expression, the eyes, etc. tell us a lot about someone.
We already learn this as very young children.

And as for me, I got photos up so someone can see me. I expect the same of a potential partner.
If you got something to hide, then don't be on a dating site or be okay with getting skipped.

Exceptions here are people that are here for forums only, not to find a date / potential partner. But even then it's nicer to have a face with a forum name.
