Topic: Another word for love | |
---|---|
A friend suggested to me that there needs to be another word for love when the exchange between two people, who are forming a romantic bond and relationship on the internet but have not met, say they are in love.
To me that word love is not real unless you meet and spend time in real life. What would you call it? I would call it delusion. Harsh? What is your opinion Minglers? |

I would call it hope , like I hope to meet up and exchange hugs and kisses .... .... and go for a roller coaster ride !!.
But seriously , love is love ... no other word for it ..... you only hope you can take the internet relationship to the next level .... I did it twice yanno ... so I kinda know ... ha ha !!! |

I thought of the word hope too. But reality is PHYSICAL TIME TOGETHER in the real world. My Mingler proposed before we met, there was a million hours of video time and phone calls. But in hindsight, I should have Summered and Wintered with him first. I did ask him that when we met he proposed in real life. Which he did. Life is about learning. I wont use the word love again on the net, not until we meet in person and spend time together. Hope is a good word. . |

I view romantic love between two people
who haven't met, as nothing shy of full on stooopid. There is no other term. |

I'd still call it love. Here, in India, we have more than one term already existing, though!
Even if it happens over a virtual space, and I am confident about myself, my feelings, I'll call it love. |

Even you wrote about physical time together? I fell in love online and I have regrets. People can hide things... |

BEFORE YOU GET TO HEALTHY LOVE I BELIEVE ITS IMPORTANT TO FIRST LIKE THE PERSON...WHICH REQUIRES TAKING TIME TO GET TO KNOW THEM... Agree, but the topic is online love. Would you fall in love online? Is it ok? Is it foolish? What woulc you suggest online love is called? |
