Bhutto was a woman who was in charge of the Pakistani Socialist party. She was the main chance the middle east had for real freedom and equality. It is a grim day. The PKK is being attacked by Turkey and the US and Now this. No doubt the USA was behind this attack.

Everything means something to America. When an OPEC minister is just feeling irregular the price of gas shoots through the roof!

Considering that they are a nuclear power and have a potential for radical (even terrorist) political activity it is something that matters to most of the entire world.

1. Bhutto was a woman.
2. America wasn't behind this, Bhutto was a strong ally of the US and a strong opponent of Islamic terrrorism.
3. This is a HUGE deal. The Pakistani government is on the verge of collapse. If they go down, it will be Al Queda that takes control.

How important does a person have to be, in order to use the word assassinated instead of just killed or murdered? Oh, just something to think about, I guess.

Anyone who is killed by surprise and for political reasons has been assasinated. Democide is murder for political reasons by a government.

Agree with most of that...but I don't see the Pak government falling, a few months of unrest maybe, but it just ensures the terrorists will be left alone in the Peshawar region and to continue with the border infiltration into Afganistan.

This is going to make oil prices jump again, damnit all.

Tho I think the Pakistani government is prolly behind it since the leader (whos name i can't spell) is about as sane as a monkey. Just my thoughts anyway, I thought that woman would bring some sort of peace to the region, but not anymore.

after watching the news today, i think that lady is a pretty good example of what we say fight for what we believe in. I have particularly been touched by the way she has been able to transcend her own person and devote to others good. That ability is really becoming rare among our leaders, since cupidity and selfishness have taken over. she is inspiring for me.... Rest in peace.

I totally agree, she will be remembered long after her death today as a woman who changed history.
