How is one going about dealing with the moment, when one is asked to sit with aloneness.

Maybe you can do that where you live, but here we still aren't allowed to gather, run group activities etc etc.
We can now have 2 visitors (wow :/ ) after months of only being allowed 1. So you cannot even celebrate things like your birthday in your own home.
We still have to wear face masks, keep 1,5m distance and everywhere are signs to stay home, even over the friggin' motorway!

It could be very similar where the OP lives.

Not necessarily. There's nothing to do anywhere because it's forbidden.
Over here we now can go to shops without having to make an appointment, but you couldn't even go to a nice beach club to sit out on their veranda with a cappuccino to enjoy the weather, and you still can't.
Life has come to a screeching halt months ago.

Personally I'm not lonely as I'm used to being by myself. But for the ones that can't, which is most people, it is depressing.
Even teenagers have gotten depressed over the past year. Education at home over the net, missing friends and being out of the house, many adults working at home over the net, missing colleagues and being out of the house etc.
Even I feel the effects of it, even though I can easily be by myself a lot.

I feel for all those that live where they are in total lock down or down near it..

I live in Texas we have never yet been on full lock down and have always been able to do pretty much get out when we want to.. Yes they said no more then 10 gatherings at one time.. Did we go by that naw.. we still had family gatherings ect.. Zoo's and all recreational stuff were pretty much closed but some were still opened. But yet we could go to the grocery stores when ever we felt like it

At one time Bars were closed and restaurants were limited to 50% capacity. Which are all now fully opened..

With that said it is hard for those in the States to understand what others are going through on total lock down..and being around family..

Many here have not seen family due to afraid they would spread Covid. Which was due to the nursing homes were on lock down and no one could visit their loved ones same with the Hospitals.. But yet we could roam where we wanted to..

We did have to put my brother in-laws memorial off couple months till we could find a place that would let around 100 but was able too..

After being laid off at work due too all the lock downs that are going on it has effected all businesses.. And many lost their jobs due to it..

It is now picking back up and some are getting to get their jobs back..

Only suggestions I have is spend more time online chatting it does help... and find projects that you always meant to do but never had the time.. I have watched more movies then I ever have.. Find some good books to read..

What really surprises me is all the people complaining, still, about living with restrictions and about being lonely and getting depressed etc etc ...in spite of having all the high tech toys to tide them over !!!
Things previous generations did not have access to and still somehow managed to survive ... How spoilt are we !!!??

Well, talking to someone who's with you, being able to enjoy group activities, hugging and touching someone cannot be resolved over the net, can they now?
We have had the net for yonks, but still many singles often miss the physical, the touch, a hug, a peck on the cheek etc.
And not to mention another important part: being out of the house WITH other people around you!

People are a social species. We are not meant to be alone for a long time, and internet might offer some solace, like phones did and do as well, but it's still not the same as real physical contact.

I do appreciate what the internet brings us, but it's never a replacement for real life encounters and socialising. In a way it is funny to now promote it as a replacement while many are so against the overdose of internet usage -especially by young people- and the effects of that on an individual.

And then there's the effect of touch. Bodies need touch to function well and remain healthy. Many singles suffer from rarely being touched anymore.
It is one thing I sometimes have as well. I've seen some call it 'skin hunger', which is a longing to be touched.

Awww but you have to consider not all in our generation is into the high tech stuff and all they have is the four walls around them and the tv.. Many of those that are falling into depression are use to being around others and need that..

Myself it is easy for me to be alone for I like the peace and quiet...

Some not so easy to adjust....

Are we spoiled now days sure we are there is so much more to do with technologies if they are into it..

Heck I can loose hours searching on the computer and playing games on my phone... some just never got into stuff like that and all they have is the tv and their phone to contact others..

And, you complied?

Therein might be the problem.
