Curious if it is possible?? Haven't met anyone yet, haven't talked to many and not sure if I can trust someone just from chatting online.

Get to know them. Email, chat online and over the phone. Take your time and you will know if they are trust-worthy. It just takes time.

Talked to a few people from here. Not meet anyone yet. But plan on it. Just follow simple rules in doing so. Public places, contact with friends etc. Above all have fun.

Nope, can't trust ANYONE from on-line! RUN FOR YOUR LIFE!!! Or just turn off your computer and don't go :on-line" bigsmile

See all those people in my "freinds" section?? I'm SCARED TO DEATH OF THEM!!! ( ask them, they'll tell ya!)

I only trust someone who is like 6,000 miles away...or so they say they are. They are probably stalkers from down the street. I HATE when they do that!

Ooops have to run, must put my straught jacket back on before they get here to give me my meds!

Have fun!!! bigsmile drinker flowerforyou laugh

I met my best friend in the world here, on JSH.

We have never met in person.

But she is my shoulder to cry on.

My experience is that 11.1% are actually trustworthy, although admittedly this is not a statistically significant sampling....1 out of 9....

Trust...?

I wouldn't trust someone who I had just met, and it's the same with dating sites. Many people want to jump right in to a relationship after a few emails, but obviously you have to give it time. It's no different that meeting someone at a bar, or at a coffee house.

Trust your own instincts.

I met a guy here while back and we talked on the phone and pc hell we even went so far to write and send each other mail. He made me a cd (love songs) I have not heard from him in almost a week. I was really crushed to see him online and he wouldn't even talk to me. I don't know what happen?? Last I heard from him, he was catching a plane to come here to meet me. It hurts really bad. I have taken down all his pictures and cried for days. I gave 100% into this relationship. He won't even return my texts or voice mail, I know what a jerk, and that is a nice word to say about him. So this has made me a sceptic on falling in love on the internet.

Trust must be earned, one step at a time. Sure you can chat via email or talk on the phone but you really don't know diddly until you MEET someone and spend time with them - over a long period of time.

Just make sure the first few meetings are in public places and your friends/family know where you are and who you're with. DON'T give out too much personal info too soon - last name, address, even home phone # can be used to get your address.

Like everything else in life: Use your head and keep your eyes wide open.

Trust is when you feel safe with that person in many ways then one.. so can you trust someone online i dont think its possible until you meet them and get to know them and how they are in person and not just go from whats going on behind the computer.

Agreeing with ZMan, any meetings with an unknown person (first date) should be done in a safe place. Think about what could be the worse case scenerio, and go in there with a battle\escape plan. There are some seriously messed up people in our society (most of the news is based on them).
For me, I offer a limited trust upon first meet or chat, then through continued dates, the trust builds (or fails). As time and dates continue, the person will have proven they are trustworthy (in their actions, words, facial expressions, body language), or not. Be sure to take the time to read the signs.
