Oh my, weren't they popular!
At the time I loved Careless Whisper and was nuts about George Michael. As were most girls in my class.
I also like The Edge of Heaven :)

I think one of my favourite Christmas songs is "Driving Home for Christmas" by Chris Rea.

Like with most Christmas songs, It's lovely to hear for about 3 days then after a month it becomes tedious and unbearable, a bit like the whole Christmas period itself!

I'm confused about women and gays.
If you're a woman or let's say a girl and you know that some guy is gay
you can still be wild about him?

For me these old video clips have a unique atmosphere, and songs by artists from 80' and 90' were unique.
Whitney Houston had a beautiful voice and she was so beautiful ... and other artists were so talented too..
Everything has changed.. but these old songs always will remain..

Talented, that's exactly my point also!
You see you (no offence intended) have a somewhat limited reference point which is not your fault.
It's your age; about 1980 was the begining of an extreme downward spiral in the vast majority of popular and contemporary (at that time) music.
The times led to some of the most horrible and talentless music ever such as disco. Disco was really the start of electronically manipulated low talent music leading to absolute no talent garbage like todays rap music(?).
Yes as you said many just do it for money but some also have a genuine gift and qualify as artists.
I'm a now retired professional sound man, I worked with/for many very talented and famous artists, toured Europe, Japan and of course all of North America for 30+ years and watched this happen.
Just my opinion.
Did you listen to the Christmas song from my link above?

Yes, I have to admit that you are right.I grew up in times when this all spiral had the beginning. Also I was interested not only 80' and 90' but also music from the 60' and classical music, especially opera and operetta music which in I'm infatuated..
Yes, I have the same point of view like you. The disco music allowed people to create different kinds of music and was abused to earn big money by talentless people. Music is one of the fields of fine arts.. and sometimes it seems that people forget about what is important...

And I think that this kind of fine arts should be created in this way which will stay for a long time in memory, like classical music and operas music. Now I have listened to the first time Christmas song which you recommend, because I didn't know it earlier and I found out about its performer thanks to you.
In Poland at Christmas time there is a tradition singing with the whole family Polish Christmas carols.
I grew up in this tradition, but I like too to listen to Christmas songs in performances of American choirs of protestant churches and many Christmas pop songs..

If you are retired professional sound man and you have a such great of experience on this filed , I think that you know this adage that... " The music alleviates of mores"..

being gay is a state of being related to sexuality .. it has little to do with how masculine a man is or what women are attracted to . Nor is it always obvious what sexuality someone identifies with . At the end if the day a man is a man .. a gay man is a man who is attracted to other men . Hope that clears your confusion . I had a crush on George Michael .. he was a gorgeous man
