Topic: I fall in love immediately...... | |
---|---|
I look at their profiles on the sites and my heart just melts....I want them all, it is instant attraction. I look in their eyes and fall instantly in love. And that is exactly how I feel when I look at all the dogs and puppies wanting homes on the adoption websites....lol and yet why do I not feel instantly attracted to all these online profiles where dating is concerned? It is so hard to connect. As I have gotten older it is the personality that wins me over, does the guy have a sense of humour, does he laugh at the things I laugh at, are we on the same page where lifestyles and ethics are concerned? Are our conversations engaging or just small talk? It is hard to know when doing online dating. Can anyone give me some pointers? If only it was as easy as adopting precious pups. |

Totally disagree.... I don't see it being a good thing if a girl isn't into you, when you're looking for a date - unless you're looking for a free dinner or movie. There's plenty of those out there. Or if the girl is into you and going to play hard to get using the guise she isn't into you, I would walk away - she isn't worth it. If she's going to play games from the start, I'd be an idiot to not expect them later |

Sparkling Crystal I was just trying to throw in some sarcastic humour while trying to make a point. The point is, why is it so easy for me (and possibly other animal lovers) to fall so quickly for all the orphaned animals we see online waiting for homes but my heart just doesn't work that way with dating online profiles....men. No instant skipping of heartbeats.

Ibaceltic and Duttoneer, sorry for the confusion, as I responded to Crystal just my sense of warped humour but Duttoneer you did get it spot on. Just comparing dog rescue profiles of which I could take home all of them, and then I go here and just little to no enthusiasm. I miss the old style of dating...meeting someone naturally, oh well, still giving it a try.

Thank you Blondey, I agree 100% and probably why I do fall in love so quickly, how can you not when as you say, they offer unconditional love, no judgment, no using, just trusting us to love them and care for them. Dating sites there is always a bit of skepticism, especially since I have met so many scammers here and other site. People taking advantage of the lonely.

Bobtail I thought men still like a good chase....I don't mean forever but a little flirting and guessing can be fun too.

It depends on the chase... At this stage in life, there is less time to fart around. You'll find with online, there are many that will play games, so I don't give them the time. I know it's not the most romantic, but straight forward is what I seek. I'm sure there's guys that'll play the game you speak of, but I'm willing to bet that those same guys will play other games as well.
Flirting is different than guessing games. If a girl wants to play guessing games, there'll be a woman that comes by just as easily that won't. I know which way I'm going |

I see your point Bobtail but I can only speak for myself but I find women still want to be swept off their feet. There is nothing too exciting when you get a new msg and a guy just says, "hey here is my number, give me a call" or "what are you doing tonight, want to meet for coffee?" It takes the romance out of it I feel. I still want someone to engage me in some interesting conversation or make me laugh so that I do want to meet at an appropriate time later. These guys that just sent out invites without taking a moment to see if he likes me beyond a profile come across a bit anxious. Just my thoughts.

I agree with your sentiment, but unfortunately the trade off with the ease of meeting new people with online dating, is the loss of romance. It's catalog shopping for your next mate - how romantic is that? |
