I Live close to a Wild life sanctuary. So many people like to come and walk trails. Volunteers are out all summer cutting grass, planting flowers, picking up trash, etc.
Now they getting ready for Fall. Taking out flower bulbs etc . Dozen cars there this morning, they stay about 4 hours. It's really amazing how people really work hard for gratification, when they doing what they love. I get tired just watching them work! |

It's great doing what you enjoy doing in life ! 85% of people work for a living and do not like what they do ! |

I don't see the point in working unless I enjoy what am doing. Otherwise what is the point? I would not get the motivation.

I don't see the point in working unless I enjoy what am doing. Otherwise what is the point? I would not get the motivation. In Utopia this would be possible for everyone. Unfortunately we do not live there and people simply have to work to pay the rent, have food on the table, healthcare and so on. I doubt when given the choice people would stay in their current job. Most people want freedom, and would love to travel but cannot afford it. There aren't that many people who take pleasure in their job. Oddly enough I think this especially goes for the higher educated ones who work office jobs. . . . |

I've been very fortunate to have been able to do what I did for 30+ years; had a lot of great times, have meet a know more famous people than anyone here would probably believe and got to see a lot of the world that I couldn't have imagined I would. I was in the middle of over a thousand concerts and shows and worked with/for many awsome musicians and most of all had so many great friends. I didn't plan it until things kind of fell into place and I just felt like this is it, this is what I'm supposed to do.............. |

Yes, and that's great! Lots of travelling and always different people and work places etc. I have an ex who had been in the same line of work for most of his adult life. The bummer is that you're then a freelancer, not employed, so you also have to cough up and save for when you're ill, can't get work for a while, pension, and so on and so forth. He also enjoyed great times -including financially- but in the end it became quite the struggle. But if you succeed... that's great! I've got a friend in the UK who's been a professional singer / guitar player all his life. He didn't want to do anything else as singing & playing was his passion, still is. He had to do some silly jobs next to it for a number of years, like delivering Chinese, as it wasn't always easy to make ends meet. But he never quit doing what he loved and still hasn't. I think that's quite admirable, given that he also didn't have income when ill etc. One of the drawbacks of not being employed that holds me back... But I'm happy it worked out great for you! |

I don't see the point in working unless I enjoy what am doing. Otherwise what is the point? I would not get the motivation. I have done a long laundry list of different occupations, tasks, jobs, what have you to make sure I had food, shelter, utilities, transportation, clothing, and insurance. I cannot say that I loved every job.. and some I disliked quite strongly. The motivation is to sustain one's self. If you don't like the job, you keep looking for something else.. You keep learning more to hopefully move to what you think may be more ideal. However.. no matter how much you think you may love a job.. there will always be a part that is not so great.. but it is called balance.. I do not know how one can choose to simply not work or have a job just because they may not enjoy it.. I wouldn't enjoy not bringing in an income to sustain myself. Not into asking for help if I am physically capable to help myself. If one is inherently wealthy to begin with, perhaps one has that type of choice.. |

There's one thing I'd love love love and that is to be a presenter. Like a presenter of a show or gig on stage, or having a nice show on tv or being a DJ.
If I had known that when younger I would've taken steps in that direction. unfortunately it's one of these things you learn about yourself throughout life and don't know until your well in your 40s. But I've rarely been so happy as when I was on stage presenting. Everyone complemented me on what I did, which I never understood. To me it wasn't anything special and the kind of thing anyone could do. Then someone else took over and the whole show fell apart. Not kidding. And it made me SO SO happy!! I don't think I've ever done anything else that made me feel that good, and I've done a lot of different things! It's the kind of thing I'd even do for free, haha. I guess that says enough! |

OH, one more thing... being in the operating theatre!
Oh man, that was a dream come true! The only thing I'd ever wanted to become as a child, and that never went away, was an assistant in the operating theatre. So when I could witness a number of surgeries and sat in the operating theatre, waiting for everyone else to come in, I was in heaven. One of these things on your bucket-list. I really couldn't believe that I was actually really truly there! I could've qualified, but it'd mean studying and no pay. At that time in my life I couldn't do without a paycheck so I had to let it go. But at least I've been in the operating theatre and know I do not pass out when I watch surgeries for real, hihi. |
