I think you are so right that some people treat there kids better than someone else's and the kids get hurt people like that just don't have a clue

its true.i had to stepsons who were great but the mother was always acting like me in her were in a best mom contest over them.never again.

Single Parent here, it is hard work but we will make it through the craziness that goes on in our lives... oops maybe that is just here at my house...

Hey single parent here to I have a 16 month old little gurl. I agree on the whole dating other parent thing its too hard with people without kids. they dont understand. you may find one that does but it rare.lol

I dated a man who didn't have kids and OH what a challenge. He was more childish than my 6yr old son. At least with my son when he gets mad he's over it by the next day if not 5 minutes later. This guy stayed mad about spilled water and still ain't over it that I know of. We broke up in July. I'm all for single parents dating single parents. Stick together.

I loved being a single parent. (two boys, one girl) so I had to go through all of the adolescence on both sides of the spectrum. I would'nt change a thing!

Cool I have to say kuddos to the dads who do what you're doing. Not many men will raise their kids alone. The ones I personally know can't make it a day without calling "their" moms but at least they're still trying to do it.

I am also a single father with my son full time. The hardest thing I found about trying to date is the women I find don't want to deal with baby mama drama. It drives me nuts! I actual have women give me comments that they would date me if I did not have full custody.. WTF Am I missing the point, I am a great dad and can't wait till I have more rugrats.. Oh well, keep waiting for that special someone right! :)

Well this has always been a factor with single parents.If people would get rid of (mine,yours)&Let it be (ours)That would solve alot.
I think (step kids) Is just wrong.Try (kids)After all,Isn't that what they all are?Why do people have to put lables on children?
And last but not least.Be willing to give what your asking for!!!
Never give up on finding the one for you & your children!They are out there somewhere.

Hold your head up high. Don't let anyone( especially a women) dog you about having full custody of your son/child. Until they know the circumstanse of why you have custody they shouldn't judge. They shouldn't judge anyway but even more so in the case of child custody.

I couldn't agree more. Don't label kids they have to deal with enough. Having a new person in their lives too. I know if it wasn't for my "step" dad raising my sister and I as his own I wouldn't be as close to him as I am. He NEVER said deal with YOUR girls in a way of disclaiming us as his own.

I have been separated for over a year and a half. Now I have the wonderful, yet tiring job of a single mom. My boys are 4 and 5 and I love them to death. I too found it better to date someone with children. For starters (if they have their own) they know what they are getting into right from the start. The way I see it, love me love my kids.

I guess I lucked out because I married a guy who had no kids and he was a great dad. But he didn't try into come in and take over he earned their trust.
