Drink a drink of madness
A toast unto your death A golden bottle of loneliness A can of passion spent The liquid fire of agony The welcome pain of loss The vacant stare of bitterness Your soul the distillers cost You wake into another life One you dreamed you drank away The price of your night of ecstasy Your soul you'll gladly pay. You taste the taste of ashes As you look about your heart You see the light of your old life Forever searching in the dark. You scream that you want out of here Please, God, make it all end Until the madness takes control And you break when you should bend The sun sinks slowly on your pleas A deaf ear, your way turned Alone with the bottle by your side You die in the life you've earned. |
