So i just want to see what people think about saying merry christmas in public.

I do not mind hearing it or saying it. I am not very religious and I believe that all of this has gotten so blown out of proportion. I hate to say it but I have even resorted to saying Happy Holidays to not offend anyone.

well i can't speak for anybody else but i am totally against this merry thing! it's like that freedom of religion thing ya know?!? why go around calling me merry when i may not be! i think we should all band together and get that changed to mediocre christmas, or average christmas or something like that! political correctness! thats all i have to say about it!

I don't think it is a matter of saying merry christmas so much as it is wanting to wish all a happy holiday in case they do not celebrate christmas but celebrate something else. All inclusive happy holiday season is better than one inclusive merry christmas especially if the person does not celebrate christmas. JMO

Happy Holidays no one should have a problem with. Unless they're a humbug, that is. |

JMO That's a very good point but there is no reson they should be keeping the kid's in the schools that do celebrate christmas from doing anything that has to do with christmas |

Well, that's one approach, I suppose...set the bar lower, so that those who are merriness-challenged won't feel left out... I do notice that I pretty much never use the word "merry" at any other time of the year. In any case, I wish you a mediocre Christmas, and a blazé New Years! |

I say Merry Christmas loud and proud!! Christ is the reason for the season. Someone says "happy holidays" to me, I say, "I'm Christian, so I will say Merry Christmas to you." Like it or lump it!
