Hey all.. It's been awhile since I have been alone for the holidays... So, my question is how is the best way to deal with it? Do ya'll go out, etc?

I usually go out to the movies or just driving around. Being at home alone kinda sucks during the holidays. I also flirt with any cute girls (old enough lol) because usually if they are working the holiday then they are single too.

My thoughts are that going out would be depressing, if in fact you are alone, that other people would tend not to allow you in to there circle (per say) as “the x day” gets closer.
And if you do meet people on the holiday it would generally be a sympathy point and ergo not true, and double ergo more depressing afterwards.

My suggestion would be to ponder the previous year of your life by yourself. Be comfortable with yourself at home during the holiday after say, maybe a nice walk or maybe a drive to look at the Christmas lights. Come to terms with who you are, and not worry so much about the crowd.

Maybe think about making plans for next year, my point is that by forcing yourself to do a Christmas thing without having had made the plans in advance would most likely backfire as to accomplishing the hopes of feeling good about the holidays, unless you happen to bump in to someone else that is in similar situation, albeit that is a rare event as most woman would rather stay at home rather then go out by themselves on a holiday, guys get drunk and depressed, and those freaks with the damn bells are all on crack.

Bottom line Christmas has lost its meaning over the last century or so, there was a time that humble reflection about yourself and in cases were applicable your family, was more to the point to be contemplated, then the, oh my god I have to run to the store and buy someone something petty, that I really was not planning on seeing anyway, a gift, because they showed up and gave me a cheese ball, came in and made us all feel that we should be doing something.

Bahhh, look inward are you happy?, if not change, you have next year. Are you sad you have no friends this year, make new “true ones” next year. Cant be around the family this year? Then make detailed plans next year” and stick to them”…

The final; point is it is up to you my son, go forth and make merry.
