With all the holiday posts the past few days, and the end of the year coming up, I was thinking about my experiences on JSH; and that started me thinking about Sheryl and how much I miss seeing her here.

Sheryl was one of those people who was always positive, even in the face of all the medical issues she had to go through.

I like to think that if she was still with us, she would be enjoying JSH the way she always did.

Every now and then I take a look at the testimonials she left me; in a way, I can still feel a sort of connection there.

She has a lot of friends here, and I just wanted to remind them to take a few minutes and remember what a great person and great friend she was for so many of us.

And for those who never had a chance to know her, you really missed a good one.

We love you, Sheryl!

I miss her too, she was definitely a presence on here, and remained positive through her battles with her illness and all. She was definitely "one of a kind."

My little one got a 24 car in honor of Sheryl's memory.

Sheryl was one in a million.
One of those shining lights that helped brighten a day up when you were feeling down or had no where or no one to turn to.
Sheryl was ALWAYS there.

My prayers and love go out to her family at this time of year.

I swear I'm going to start crying again, before last night that was the last time I was realy active here. I miss her alot. She was amazing. Everytime I see a race I root for Jeff Gordan now

I read this last nite but just could not respond to it as the tears once again streamed down my cheeks as they are again this norning. But it brought back memories of the poem I wrote for her on another day that I also took time out to remember her.
Some in the past read it some never saw it so I would like to share it with ya'll again.

“Balloons in Flight”



You see today I had a chore.
Off I went to the store.
Balloons I did buy.
And watched as they floated to the sky.
Pink , blue , purple and green.
Even one that was aquamarine..
I was ready to encounter.
This jester, as I walked up to the counter.
Twelve is what we counted out.
For what I was going to do I had no doubt.
Watching as they blew up each.
Once they were done I did reach.
As I grabbed the balloons.
In my head started these tunes.
My car is going to beat your car.
You are for sure a star.
A smile so bright.
It will light up the night .
In your heart you hold .
One made of gold.
Off we went Nikki & I and my grandbaby.
As we arrived I promised not to be a cry baby.
We walked up to the Big Gazebo and stood.
High above over looking the trees and the lake.
Thinking of the journey they would soon take.
The wind had started to blow.
As we stood and overlooked this plateau.
Kaitlynn asked ganny why are you going to let them go?
She had such a desire to know.
I explained to her that a beautiful lady now had her wings.
And she's with God in heaven and soon we let go of the strings.
It was truly a beautiful site.
As we watched these balloons take flight.
I whispered Sheryl I’m sending you hugs and kisses your way.
You will always be in my heart to stay.

Thank you for sharing the poem. Touching. She is missed, but lives on in our hearts. My prayers for her family during this undoubtedly difficult time.

I did not know her, but if she was like any one of the many dear friends I have found, then I send out a prayer which I had found....cause my friends mean the world to me, and if I had the chance to have met her, then I would have felted this way too, but in a sense I do feel the loss, so I had to post to this, cause I feel the hearts of my friends loss of this woman too.

A Little Step Away To close the eye,
to fall asleep,
to draw a labored breath,
to find release from daily cares in what we know as death . . .

Is this the crowning of life,
the aim or end thereof?

The totaled sum of consciousness,
the ripened fruit of love?
It cannot be,
for works of God are wrought for nobler ends,
and those away continue on in the hearts of kin and friends.

It cannot be,
for they live on a little step away,
the soul,
the everlasting life,
has found a better day . . .

I was only getting to know Sheryl after she came back on , but I could feel the love she had for the people she called friends. I was hoping to ask her to be on my list so I could get to know her more, but God decided He needed such a beautiful angel to be by His side. May she watch over her "real" family and her JSH family at this special time of year.
