All that matters now
Is within the silence itself All that moves me now Is in the stillness itself Prestigious garments in tatters The beggar and the kings both return to dust Precious gold losing its value away by its own worth Infinite treasure hidden in plain sight What use is the lamp to him that has no eyes to see? And food is a word to one who has no heart to hear it? How shall heavens bread sustain one who spits it out? It is hard for the tender rain to gently wash you of your fears with your armor on. Plough shares forged from rusty swords Having lost the sharpness of their significance Dulled by the awareness of benevolence And we find true refuge in the castles keep of our defenselessness Guarding our heart from becoming guarded We let truth pillage us like a thief in the night Of our treasured fears we held dearly Only to awaken impoverished of the weight of our greed and ill will Is the sacrifice of our delusions. |
