Anybody cooking more since restaurants are closed?
I don't like drive through fast foods and the lines are even
longer now anyways.

I've cooked so many things these last six weeks, I thought I had
forgot how to cook.:grinning:

Missing my favorite restaurants and meeting a friend out.

Hopefully the virus will be cleared up and places will be safe again sooner than later. It's been Sad and Scarey

I love to cook. I just don't have the money to buy the ingredients to cook. I enjoy looking at recipes.

I love cooking too!
I have plenty of ingredients.
Wanna borrow a cup of sugar?

Toodygirl5, you should check out pinterest for recipes.
You might find something new and exciting to cook.
My sis told me she found a recipe for dandelion cookies which turned out just wonderful and she said she had fun cooking them.

I like to experiment with different sauces.
Lately I've been doing recipes using plum sauce, orange sauce and cranberry sauce.
I did some lamb chops in plum sauce that was to die for, yummy.
I baked a ham in apple cider with apple jelly and agave syrup, it was wonderful. I garnished it with fresh cut apple rings.

I have a nice supply of fruit preserves.
I'm thinking of trying some side dishes using those in some way.

I don't like to use a lot of sauces. I prefer more spice and vegetables.

I have a lot of old recipes that have been collecting dust from not using them for years .

Now I'm cooking mostly casseroles and pot foods. Something easy.

Some people love to cook and enjoy it. That's not me. I'm single for years and like dating men who enjoy cooking or taking a me out.

I need directions when even boiling water so cooking is out. Microwave meals get old after a while so I go to my favorite restaurant and get a take out. It's like the old days when the waitress would come right out to your car and take your order.

I did drive through last week at Taco Bell to get soft shell tacos.

I hadn't been there in months.

I like Grilled foods but I do not Barbeque.

Culver's restaurant here has great foods. It's an upscale fast food not like Mickey D's or Burger King.

Baking flour joins the list of things hard to find in stores amid the coronavirus outbreak. The reason could be simply that people are baking more, Carey Underwood, who is director of mission-driven partnerships and programs at King Arthur Flour, said. "People who were baking monthly are now baking weekly, and people who were baking weekly are baking daily," Underwood said. "We expect this increase in baking to continue for the foreseeable future as trends show more in-home eating compared to dining out and people choosing to bake the food staples they cannot find in their grocery stores." Underwood clarified the shortage in grocery stores is because of the spike in demand for flour, not because there is a shortage of wheat. "The demand for all signature flours, but especially all-purpose and bread flours, is simply unprecedented and is outpacing the inventory in our warehouses," she said. Super markets have also noticed the higher demand for flour. β€œOn average, since the middle of March, we have seen nearly triple the demand for products such as flour, sugar and baking ingredients like yeast," Dwight Richmond, Director of Center Store Merchandising for The Fresh Market, said.

I haven't cooked in years. Since it's just me things tend to go to waste without someone around. So I just get prefab meals and microwave or in the oven.

It will be good when restaurants here open up to seating inside again.

Maybe June.

There are so many inconveniences, not the Norm and hopefully it won't ever be.

If you want eat well, you must learn your way around the kitchen. I don't do that pre-fab preservative-packed Stouffer's frozen dinner crap.

Last night was mini-turkey meatloafs. Tonight was baked chicken legs. Tomorrow night I've planned out Chicken Piccata cooked in a lemon sauce with a pasta side.

Just remember ladies, seating is limited, is available on a first-come first-served basis and you must call ahead of time for reservations. Also, if you want fresh bread, I need at least 3 hours heads-up notice.
