"This is the way it is because this guy told me it was!" but seeing as it you saying what you say it is different and it is to be believed when you are a total stranger and have resorted to personal attack sorry charlie you were starting to build some credability but you lost any and all with your attack and refusal to say what you did be well oh and by the way the flag has been burned in the states by americans as well http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/conlaw/flagburning.htm |

No, I didn't say anything about wanting you to believe me. In fact, I'm beginning to wonder if you even read what I'm posting. I specifically said YOU DO NOT GIVE SOMEONE'S OPINION MORE WEIGHT JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE A CERTAIN CAREER.
Read my very first post. You're 50 years old, you should know better than to debate like a 12 year old. You can try to twist my words all you like, but please do yourself a favor and read my first post again. I've taken the liberty of doing it for you, since apparently you have difficulty reading and would rather just shove words into someone's mouth. This is ridiculous. While I'm not going to get into politics, this notion of "if you're not x, then y" is nonsense. My experience was the exact opposite of what you describe.
So who's viewpoint is more valuable? Neither. They're both equally valid perspectives. Therefore, your multiple comments about me trying to get you to believe me ARE FALSE. |

YOU DO NOT GIVE SOMEONE'S OPINION MORE WEIGHT JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE A CERTAIN CAREER. That answers my question. Those who fight day in and day out, talk to Iraqis in the FIELD (not in the green zone, where everything is kept clean and tidy), and have to clean up the bodies along side security forces when things get screwed up, know we're not wanted here. Support troops have no way of really knowing what's going on. so which is it you say "YOU DO NOT GIVE SOMEONE'S OPINION MORE WEIGHT JUST BECAUSE THEY HAVE A CERTAIN CAREER." it sounds as tho different weight is given here and i also am beginning to wonder if you were ever there not that it matters you are still intitled to yer "opinion" i did not twist your words and i am not the one that resorted to name calling be well have a happy happy merry merry and be safe out there |

Well, then I would love for you to point out the section where I said my opinion was more credible than anyone else's, as you've claimed I have said here, several times.
We both know you can't. |

well, I view it like this. If some foreign army came into my country, would I want them there? Sure I wouldn't. In this case the US military is the only chance of stabilization before a political reformation in Iraq, so whether Iraqis want the US there or not, they realize that the US presence is required so progress can be made. But seriously, everything is way more complicated than having support or not having support. Multiple ethnic groups have varying reasons for supporting anyone in Iraq, so saying that "Iraqis" don't support the US is a bit misleading because plenty of groups either support, hate, and merely tolerate the US presence. It's a mixed bag of support. Blanket statements will never get anywhere in the middle east. It's way more complex than that. As our country stands today Iw ould have to agree that Iw ould do everything I could to expell any dominating army inthe united states. However, if we were int he same predicament as Iraq is, or even Bosnia, Afghanistan or any other number ofthird world countries, I have to be honost and say I dont know if I would want the foriegn army out or not. If they were causing me to be more safe and to be abe to feed my children more often then i would probably support them. And in my opinion there is not a single person in this world that could say otherwise. If your current situation is bad enough, then you are going to accept things you wouldnot otherwise accept if it made life better foryou or your children/loved ones. |

Because what someone did overseas doesn't change COMMON SENSE. COMMON SENSE. COMMON SENSE. I said Support troops don't speak to people in the field. I'm sorry that you are completely ignorant of every historical activity since the dawn of humanity. Please find me one example of a country supporting an occupying force. Not even France wanted the US to stick around after WW2. People like you always make me chuckle. "This is the way it is because this guy told me it was!" One day you'll figure it out when the US ultimately pulls out of Iraq and the American flag starts being burned in the street in Basra. Oh wait, it already is. yes i think i will have to agree with you eind after all how can what one person did overseas be irrelevant when at the same time they say support troops would not have a clue i would have to think that a body guard for some one that could afford one would have less of a clue \ I am going to ask this once. Speak for yourself and not for me or others. I spent several months in Bosnia AS A SUPPORT TROUP and not only did I talk with the local peoples, I acted as an unofficial translator (did not know the language well enough to do so officially), I worked hand in hand witht he local contractors who came to us for employment purposes. So please, speak for yourself definitely, no one else can. however, do NOT speak for me or anyone else as you do not have the capability of doing so anymore than I have the capability of speaking fro you. Thank you and have a merry christmas. |

Funny example, as I am a Serb. Sure, the Muslims will want you there on the surface. thanks to your safe zones, arms trafficking has never been higher.
Thanks! and kforce is not an occupying entity, so its no where near the same thing. and a translator is Field combat support. In the field, is it not? and Ad, I said said support troops speak to Iraqis less. I was combatting your word-as-gold nonsense. |

waving to ya fitness!!! merry christmas shugar!!!
Now i got a real problem with this article of yours babycakes. First off its just an article. Why dont we actually talk to the traqi's who have NOT been beaten, raped, murdered, beheaded, haven entire VILLAGES MURDERED and this continues by the hour IN REAL LIFE IN IRAQ. Now to LEAVE Iraq? I believe you need to really get into that country and ASK THE REAL PEOPLE THERE> LETS NOT FORGET WE AS AMERICA DID NOT JUST GO IN THERE AND INVADE THAT COUNTRY. It was Husseins CONDUCT that put us back over there. His REFUSAL OVER AND OVER AND OVER TO LET THE UN INSPECT is WHAT GOT HIS SORRY BUTT IN THIS MESS. Of course lets NOT FORGET his MASS MURDERING CARNAGE that was also a key factor. OH LETS TALK THE TRUTH HERE. Knoxman is right on the MONEY with HOLDING THEIR LITTLE MILITARY HANDS. I agree its TIME TO GET OUR MEN AND WOMEN OUT but at WHAT COST TO AMERICA?? FIGHT THEM HERE....FIGHT THEM THERE. WE ARE AT WAR. This is NOT a current BUSH ISSUE youngins...its gone on for DECADES. IF you do NOT know the history.....EDUCATE YOURSELVES. Personally we should have just dropped the big nuke and turned their asses to GLASS years ago and been DONE. My MOST HUMBLE AMERICAN OPINION. GOD BLESS AMERICA! GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS! |

The vast majority of people I speak with, including Iraqis, do not want us there. That includes soldiers, contractors, plumbers, they don't care. They don't want us there anymore than you'd want a Chinese soldier marching through Columbus. No matter what internal issues you're having, no one wants a foreign power walking through their capitol. edit: I shouldn't have to qualify my posts with anything. My experience is irrelevant in an issue such as this. It's common sense. Even the Kurds, the most discriminated group in the country want us gone at this point. I should also say I don't give a **** if we're in Iraq or not. I'm merely informing you of the fact that it's human nature to not want someone else meddling in your affairs. EXCUSE ME YOUNGIN...the KURDS were all GASSED BY HUSSEIN YEARS AGO. BY YOUR LEADER. |

Personally we should have just dropped the big nuke and turned their asses to GLASS years ago and been DONE. My MOST HUMBLE AMERICAN OPINION. It's already been done by your most humble American opinions.....Nagasaki, Hiroshima, ring a bell? As to 'at war'...pigs arse.... a war for what? Oil? Without UN sanctions. America invaded another country.... sounds like war crimes to me.... Oh and by the way, I am educated, unbiasedly so. |

Yeah, I can't agree with the "just wipe em all out" mantality either. Innocent bystandards are innocent bystandards, they have children too. This is a complex situation that needs complex sollutions, and on that note I vote Biden;^]

The US did, they had some bombs to test, and had a great and what they believed justfiable excuse. Your ideas are insane Barbie, and it scares me to know you have access to innocent children, that as a teacher, an educator, you have these beliefs. Many generations died from your nuke em attitude, your hatred, your contempt for human life... many generations, I'm educated alright, my sister in law cant have kids due to the genetic genocide your country left for her father, and his family. She lost her whole descendants, except her father, who was a young man in Hiroshima, she lost all her siblings to leukaemia, due to your nuke em hatred... I am educated..... and have experienced it.... you just spew forth venom, and bigotry and hatred....which is what your country claims it is fighting against. |

@ Barbie, Sorry, but that's not very realistic, hell half the people we're fighting aren't even the real enemy, just locals trying to protect their land. Not to mention the archeological setbacks this would incur. Iraq is home to the oldest known civilisation/ empire known to man, as well as the oldest known alphabet to man. There is still much to learn about the Sumerians and if we "level it" then all that is out the window;^]

They want us out and it has been said over and over. We went there illegally. Saddam paid for 9/11 with his life which noone wants to acknowledge. Iraq became a target after 9/11 because Bush wanted it. Saddam had no involvement in 9/11, although supposedly capable of hitting us on our soil, he never did. It is not relavant Saddams character in this issue. We wanted bin laden, we should have bin laden, where the hell is bin laden??????!!!!!!!!!!
Why are our wonderful troops in Iraq??? Because a dufus of a pres decided Iraq should be invaded for his personal reasons. We illegally invaded a soveriegn country who had nothing to do with 9/11. Do not forget bin laden and 9/11 cause that is where we should have been, avenging 9/11. |

Someone on the first page thought that Iraq needs welfare from us? But don't they have lots of oil that would take care of them if the oil was not stolen from them? And is it not pretty obvious that most of Iraq does not want us there? Tell me how are we helping them by being there? It seems to me that we are trying to put an American puppet govt in there and Iraq does not want it and even the Puppets don't want it? Even most Americans don't want it either. Who is Running our Foreign policy anyway? Israel????American secret govt???Who IS????I would really like to know???The American people???
