Topic: American men love high heels!! | |
---|---|
A woman on the radio who makes/designs shoes and apparently there's quite the demand from men for high heels. But... our high heels don't work so well as they're not solid enough (men generally weigh more) and have wider feet.
So this woman has designed high heels especially for men, including stilettos. WTF??? But, she argues, it's not new as in Renaissance men also wore heels and it conveyed they were well off and nobility. Yeah, true. They also wore tights. It's an era in our history I don't fancy for men looking so sexy, haha. And it's MOSTLY American men who want them and order them. She says it's an untapped market. |

They saved a traditional footwear manufacturers here and they made a film about it called "Kinky Boots". |

But women walk heel first as well, that's what makes heels so danged unnatural and uncomfortable. I'll never forget walking through Antwerp on very high heels, and I do mean 'very', over cobbles. Hotdangit, did that hurt! Ball of the foot get taxed too much or in the wrong way. |

I suspect that's what most go to as well. I cannot see a normal man walking on stilettos, haha. |

Point taken, Eric. 2020 and all. I wanna be a kinder, gentler gnome. Haha. But it does make one wonder what the bleep is going on, right?! I'm not pro this gender blending chit myself to be honest. Men in a panty-hose? Men on heels, men in tight long skirts... And that's not even touching upon the subject of transgenders. I consider myself to be quite open minded, but all this woman's clothing and shoes on men is too much for me, hihi. |

|
|
Oh... I'm not at all in favor of gender blending.
But, am kinda waiting for the chance to snicker, the first time i see some dicky-do break a heel. |

She should do a steel toecap version with a spirit level in the heal for American builders.
or grips and spikes for lumberjacks |

Considering most men, pretty much all of them, are taller than me, I certainly wouldn't want him to wear heals and be even taller, haha.

Just think of a man showing up on a first date in high heels
That would make your jaw drop, and that of everyone else around. I would possibly be tongue-tied. What the heck do you say. Or do for that matter. Run? |

So...
Platforms would still be okay on a first date though? I stopped growing when i was 15, and i'm really sensitive about being only 6'5" |
