"He acts (and often votes) quite the conservative" Howland....I think his record speaks just the opposite ( I think his being the democrats choice for vice president is proof enough) The only "conservative" view I think he has held, is his support for the Iraq war. It's a shame the the Dem party abandons anyone who may differ or does not pull the party line on any one given subject. But it certainly doesn't surprise me  Lieberman is 'hardly a Democrat' in more ways than 1. He ran as an independent last time. H abandoned the Dems, not the other way around. As for the Dems abandoning anyone not pulling the party line....wel that's a unique vision of the party of 'inclusion'. It's typically criticized for not having a clear vision. It's the Republicans who punish those who don't goosestep to one beat. |

msn..think you should re-check your facts...the Dems backed the other candidate(because of Liebermans position on Iraq) which forced him to run as an independant.
