People who follow everything the Bible says is a little confused.

How does someone follow everything the bible has to say?
Do you even understand the message that the book is pointing at?

I am not saying that it is bad to follow the bible, but I am saying that I do not truly think anyone can follow everything the bible has to say.
Do you follow the contradictions?
Do you follow the rules that once were?
Do you believe in an eye for an eye or do you believe in love for all?

I think it's naive for anyone to say that they follow everything the bible says. I can imagine that a lot of average christians don't even understand what half of the book says.

Once again, this is nothing against the Bible or the religion, simply the person who thinks they can follow everything the bible says.

It's the message in the book that is important, people.

But, it's just like I say...
Quando qualcuno da una religione si comporta in su, metterli nel loro posto.

I only follow the part where it says I'll inherit the earth.

The rest of the book is obviously a message to other individuals.

Haha. So, when do you finally get it?

read sometime about the Talmud - it is all about interpretation...every line has been analyzed in every way...differing opposing opinions of interpretation have been offered...

in other words - you get out of it what you put into it.
you can (mis)use the bible to justify a wide variety of opinions

that is not the point. the point is to learn something about
ethical behavior. and then behave with conscience.

it is the first treatise on ethics in western lit.
it's a pip!

www.jewfaq.org for example to get started...laugh

Probably after it's been totally ravaged of all resources, and then contaminated with nuclear radiation.

These things always seem like a good deal in the beginning, but they don't always turn out as expected. frown

Maybe if you ask the Universe nicely, it will let you start from scratch.
Then again, I wouldn't ask the Universe anything.
From what we've already done, asking the universe for help is like asking Death to kill you.
It's a lose-lose situation.

Once again, its a fallible source. It's been written by the people to maintain, control, and make money.

I would agree with the bolded statement whole heartedly. But I have to take exception with the statement that there are contradictions in the Bible. We had a thread a few weeks ago and the only contradiction which could be offered is "Christians are stoopid". laugh

You speak of those and direct to one.

The limit is bound.

The seal is forbidden.

Biding your time?

It's only one, not half.
The half never is.
The half is all of nothing.

The rest is conjecture.

Constructing a thought to hide a motive is the mask.

Rules are the subordinate.

Autonomy is cheap.

No one leads.

No. Not one.

it is cold there.

Alone.

Wouldee, I'll bet you could write some profound haiku.
