I hear that in the Democrat primaries although there is no mention on Iran, questions are raised on troops pull out from Afghanistan.

This has serious implications for India but instead of going into painful details i feel that one of the two root causes for wars that backfire into terrorism is: USA and Russia still remain adversaries. We also know, given half a chance Russians would like to defect to the West. So why does Russian government not focus on improving living conditions instead of maintaining their missile network. After all Trump did make business investments in Russia.

Does anyone think this is possible if Trump wins a second term?

It's not in the interest of America's military manufacturing business to be friends with Russia!
The conditions for Russian people have greatly improved over the years. Where ever you go on holiday now the Russians will on holiday to which years ago they were never aloud to go.

Not certain if it is at all possible for Russia to let go of it's superpower status?
Think of the consequences, I think maybe the Middle-East and/or China will try to fill those shoes.
I'm not saying I'm a fan of Russian regime, but in a way a superpower also keeps others in check who'd otherwise go nuts.
At some point I do think we have to get to no more superpower states, but is the world ready for that?
I think there's still a great many countries that'd love to put their imprint on the world. Many aren't ready yet for a more equal and peaceful co-existence.

I think this goes for Russia & America being friends too. Of course it'd be great if they'd work together, but not to the point that it'd become almost the one superpower. That's not what the world needs and as it is now it would go to certain people's heads. Too dangerous.

As for Trump... from what I was told he makes good chance of getting re-elected. The man is a successful business man. He knows how to sell himself. And from what I heard the opposition isn't much to write home about.

USA and Russia still remain adversaries
that all depends on who you ask
cause we have been using them for a while for a taxi to the space station

Here is an April 3 tweet from Rogozin about Russian-made rocket engines used to launch U.S. satellites: “A Russian broom for an American witch.”

will Trump win again , depends on the other person they put up there
chances are very high that he will
but , that would only be if they can learn to count the ballots and not interfere with them
but hey its all good ya can just collect the paper work and recount them
oh wait they got it on computer , lol
but that should be good cause computers never get hacked or have programs on them to do things <lmao>

just remember , trump and hiller was the best in all of usa for prez
lmao

next war , i think the leaders should go fight it , since they seam to love wars so much.... no major bombs , dont need to kill, people that are innocent (or harmless things like agent orange etc etc etc )
just take the leaders put them in a big area ,like ya might drop the kids off at the park : ) only armed

so are enemy's should fear us , we after all, have Arnold Schwarzenegger : ) he he he

it's going to be like that perhaps until Putin leaves office, Putin is but a shadow compare to some of his predecessors whom were Czars and ruled an entire USSR ..Putin is only president and rule only Russia which makes him appear less threatening which may explain why they no longer place Russians as being the top bad guys in any more James Bond movies ...so as of now Putin's Russia have to appear tough and at odd with the USA

So why does Russian government not focus on improving living conditions instead of maintaining their missile network.

probably of the same reasons as India Pakistan and North Korea

Does anyone think this is possible if Trump wins a second term?

you probably have to ask those that got him elected the first time ...the Russians

Excellent points.
But, it is a two way street..
It doesn't benefit Russia's military manufacturing business
for their government to be friends with America.

They are secretly always friends. What you see and are told is theatre.

In other words if the war theater is far from home - like in the Middle East then it's all in the Game.

The problem is there's a new player, China, tempted to join the Game. It hinges on US troop pull out of Afghanistan. An open secret here. The only real deterrence would be an American Russian deal over Afghanistan / Iran - my opinion.

Yep, it's all gone wrong. The war theatre and playground for Russia /usa was always going to be Europe hence Europe being loaded with first strike weapons.
Things have really changed. plus the UNs failure to intervene in Syria has given Russia a navel base in the Mediterranean! So that has made it impossible for the west to cruise around unchecked!

I remember the speech when Ronald Reagan said "Mr. Gorbachev tear down this wall" ...I've been waiting years for Putin to give that same zinger to Trump ....hey Comrade Trump tear down that Mexican border wall.. but alas so far Putin haven't deliver...and it would be a political disaster for Trump if Putin did...which is why there's a hint of a sort of skullduggery type Bromance between the two

perhaps Ronald Reagan should have said Mr Gorbachev tear down this wall so that we can use those bricks to build one here in the good olde USA

"Land of the Free, Home of the Wall" .... funches 3;16
