Hey,
Does anyone go to Time Square on new years eve?? I have never done it, but plan to..not this year, but maybe next..or for sure for 2010. Just wanted to know how soon you should be there and what to expect. I know once you get "packed in" the crowd you might as well be ready to stay for a LONG TIME because you can't even move around. Anyone have experience in this??? Thanks in advance! |

I live in nyc... and will not touch that place with a hundred foot pole... now dont get me wrong , its fun diffrent and you hang with people.. you r keep kinda warm with everone around you ,,, but make sure your near a porta potty , and you have 2 or 3 flask's nicely filled.... traffic will be bad so take public transportation and of all things be safe ... have fun happy new year,,,

ONCE WAS ENOUGH FOR ME - WE WERE IN THE CITY SINCE THE AFTERNOON, WALKING AND JUST HANGING OUT THE CROWD STARTS TO GET THERE AROUND 7ISH, BY 9PM YOUR CEMENTED/CORNERED AND STUCK. BRING A LOVED ONE MIGHT AS WELL MAKE USE OF THE CLOSE PROXIMITY. THE CROWD BASICALLY BEHAVES, DESPITE THE ONE OR 2 A$$HOLES.

My friend grew up NYC and he said its totally crazy and that if u can afford to ur best bet is to get a hotel room over looking time square cause u are packed in the sardines and people get really crazy.

I live not that far from NYC. I was not there New Years eve, but instead went New Years day of 2007. I walked through Times Square..went down to Rockerfeller Plaza to see the tree and up 5th Ave. to see the animation in the wondows. It was just as I remember it. I would never be in Times Square on New Years eve...nope not in a million years.

It will just be a ONE TIME deal for me too...just to say I did it (I do that a lot). So thats not real bad, around 7ish..only about 5 hours. So maybe next year but most likely 2010 will do it. You only live ONCE, so make the most of it!
