Topic: AdBlock problem | |
---|---|
I'm not sure what has been going on. I haven't had the annoying "You use Adblock" popup for at least half a year anymore, and now suddenly it's back?
Making it difficult to get to mail, account and so on. I get you want your sponsors but why can't they be normal sponsors? It's flashing adverts which I cannot handle with my head (injury related) and other (sex) dating sites ads. If you want to ram ads through our throat, why not normal ones, and ones that do NOT move? I've seriously had half naked women, sex dating stuff and whatnot. I'm not a prude, but I don't wish to see that. I was so happy it was gone, why the heck is it back again? Oh, and pausing it on the site or allowing this site does not work. (That's the advice you're always given) And if it was off for over half a year, why is it back again? Others here said they didn't have that popup either. It's really weird that I DO have it? |

I'm having the same problem and had to turn the adblocker off to be able to navigate the site. The ads are very annoying and really slow the site down for me.
Just wanted you to know you aren't alone. |

Using ublock0 from raymond hill and no adds here so far. You should try.

are you talking about ads that are through this site?

I've only experienced adds while using the mobile app.
I've bought 3 washing machines, a car , 5 holidays and an hour with a french hooker. Life's great |

I have the same problem as SparklingCrystal, Annoying ads all over the pages and it interferes with your browsing and writing messages and nearly clicking on these stupid adverts. Pull your finger out Mingle2 and get rid of theses adverts pronto!!! Give us a choice of ad blockers or not!!

i just got the you are using an ad blocker banner today but only on one of the puters I got it a week or so ago. I turned it off like they wanted but today I got huge ads that covered half the forum posts so turned it off. The banner came up again until I turned off ad blocker again. I don't mind the ads so long as they don't cover half the page or cover over the forums. Do you have any suggestions Mingle mods? Please and thank you! |
|
|
|
now it's affecting both puters but once i get into the forums it doesn't happen

It's happening mostly on the recent posts page. Once I click on something it goes away. But it covers the top three posts on the page... so when it happens I can't go directly to that page. I have to go to a different thread first.

well the minute it starts affecting the forums i'm gone again

First time since I joined, I am having popup ads on some threads. Like River, the ad disappears when I click another thread.

3 simple solutions:
1. go to your browser setting, block javascript for this domain. Anti"Adblock" based on javascript which detect Adblock javascript. If you have popup ads, go to browser setting and block all popups. Google it for your browser. 2. install different ad blocker {google it) 3. be respectful to site owners - they have to earn money somehow - for majority of users site is free, but hosting server, development, updates, maintenance, domain yearly registration etc. are not free - so just visually ignore ads and let them rotate and generate money that because most of us do not pay for free service. |

since you posted right after me, I just want to say I was just voicing my experience today as well. No disrespect to the site whatsoever. In fact I love Mingle2 and I do my best to help the mods and admins keep the forums clean.
bbw lover, you've been a member since 07/18/16 and just showed up in the forums recently, please report anyone disrespecting the site or any member in the forums. The mods and admins will take it from there. |

I started getting this problem just today. A large add covers almost half the screen.

Honestly - moderators and developers should adjust header ad space it cover site content and if it will stay that way I personally will start block ads
|

1. I am NOT disabling adblocker software for ANY site.
2. I don't see any ads...Ever (not even on youtube). 3. I don't watch cable, satellite or broadcast TV because I don't even like commercials. I also will not listen to radio stations for the same reason. |

I also will not listen to radio stations for the same reason. Same here. You see YouTube vids announced with "No Ads!", me thinking "What ads?" I never have ads on YouTube. I installed AdBlock when FB began having annoying ads right next to the posts, vertically. Some of them moving too, which I hate. Way too much in put for the head to watch all that chit all day long. |

are you talking about ads that are through this site? The sponsored ads they have, so from/through this site, yes. |

Using ublock0 from raymond hill and no adds here so far. You should try. Don't you get the popup when you go to your PMs and account? I don't have any popup on the forum, it's the rest of the site. |
