Which part are you going to? I don't live in India, but I've been before.
I haven't travelled around it much, but I think the states can be quite different, and have different laws etc. For instance I think some are 'dry' states, meaning you can't buy alcohol, or in some states, it's more expensive than others |

Since OP is coming on work, suggest settling down (September is fine, food system needs getting adjusted to). then there's the local scenario (South is more conservative). If it is moving into cities like: Bombay / Mumbai, Goa or Bangalore - lots of info on net. a better idea is to get in touch with westerners in these cities, Mingle Search - I would do it!! |

I think you need to be careful about such things in India. Mumbai is not Bangkok. |

I know a few gay people in India, though, they're not Indian
To the best of my knowledge there wasn't a gay scene as such, at least where I was. But there was plenty of nightlife, of all sorts of people, and on the whole it was pretty liberal and welcoming |
