buttons and lex should write a book. or at least a faq...  omg buttons, i am so sorry to hear that you (and lex too) have had such weird and ridiculous experiences. who let the dogs out?!!  hey ive had lots of more good meetings have met a lot of people off of online..... mostly all just for friends... but still lots of great people on here just as anywhere else u could meet them...when i was dating and met them for friends always left a way out..... and im thanking someone above i did... cause that first guy im sure if werent in public would of been a really bad thing happen... was bad enough as it was.... just had to add that

Meet in public.
I met my ex husband online and we had 1st meeting in a public place. It is safer for both of you. Having dinner at yours or his house when you are 1st meeting can be very scary. He could see that steak knife as a weapon and nobody around as a perfect opportunity. Not saying he is a murder, but in this day and age it is better to be safe then sorry. |

I've met 9 people from dating sites, including the one I mentioned above. 7 of the 8 others were just as bad (albeit not exactly in the same way -- but just as bad). The one good one was REALLY good, though -- and still a big part of my life today. So you never know. And LHB -- one of my "bad ones" was also an arsonist, only her thing was starting fires in hotels. You never know what you're going to run into -- !! |

And who can forget my incident with the casual first time dinner date whicg was nice and cordial. After the date I dropped her off at her door and went home. She then decided to stalk me and defamed my character around town by telling anyone who would listen that I was her "sex toy". Then in a fit of frustration she attempted to burn my house down because I was not there. Neighbors surveilance cameras caught her. I filed a restraining order and found out she had a long criminal record and had legally changed her name and moved from where she previously lived to try to hide or get away from her past behavior of stalking men, slashing tires, killing pets, and arson, and many more. I do background checks and meet in public places. THIS CRAP HAPPENED TO ME IT CAN HAPPEN TO YOU! Be careful. OMFG!! That's creepy. Now I don't feel so bad about encountering liars, at least they didn't do all that stuff... |
