Who is a Got fan? What did you think of the season premiere? What was your favorite part or parts? Wasn't the biggest fan of the season premiere, specially after waiting over a year for it. But I did have a couple favorite parts. One was when Arya and Jon reunite(although I thought it was to short of a reunion) and the other was Bran waiting for an old friend, aka Jaimie Lannister! Oooo and Sam finding out bout his father and brother was kinda tear jerking!!!
Let's here your thoughts!!! |

Yeah, after a year away it seemed like they did some exposition with not a lot of action. (Well, Ser Bronn got some action, I guess!) So not a lot of stuff there other than laying things out for the rest of the season.
I also thought each episode was going to be longer. I was a bit disappointed that we only got an hour. Not so sure of the Sam deal. His dad was easy to hate, and one would think that Sam would surely hate him more than just a casual watcher of the show. Not sure why he would have feelings for the guy, but it did make more sense that he had feelings for his brother. I can wait a few days to see what they bring next, things will pick up, that's for SURE! |

Yeah I was a little shocked that same had any emotion towards his dad! Or was it, the shock, that Dani, burned him alive. I do understand him having feelings for his brother, cause they where kinda close and always got along :)
Total agree about the time. I thought all of them were going to be longer, but that was not the case. Each one gets longer from here. This Sunday is 6 minutes longer I believe and then the following Sunday is 70 minutes long, then the rest are all 80+ minutes :) I am really, really interested in what Jaime and Bran are going to say to eachother!! That look on his face was so priceless!! Can't wait for Sunday!!! |

I'm not surprised by Sam's reaction at all.
It was his father. Yeah, the guy never treated Sam well, but it was still his father. Look at Tyrion. He went through similar trials with his dad, but he still loved and respected him....to a degree. The only reason Tyrion killed him was raw emotion. He felt doubly betrayed by his father. Not only did he allow the farce of Tyrion's trial and sentencing, he slept with the woman Tyrion loved. In fact, he had hired her to seduce Tyrion in the first place. And why? He was trying to discredit Tyrion as leverage to convince Jaime to leave the Kingsguard to become heir to Casterly Rock. But deep down, Tyrion's sense of betrayal had been heightened by the fact that he always wanted his father's approval. Sam is the same way. He wanted dad's approval. Now he will never have another opportunity to earn it. That's why Sam responds to his death. |

Good theory but not sure I take it. Sam was more surprised and seamed to really get upset once he found out his brother was dead. Then the tears filled up and he stumbled thru his words to Queen. But we won't know, unless it was talked about in the discussions after the show, which I haven't watched yet.
Really looking forward to Sunday. We will of course re-watch the premiere and that's when I will probably watch the after discussions of the premiere. Who does everyone think will finally sit on the throne? |

Sam had two different levels of reaction.
He reacted less to his father's death. But you also have to remember those 2 deaths also meant the end of Sam's family line unless he get reinstated. After all, he joined the Night's Watch, renouncing all claims on lands and titles. He broke those vows, first with Gilly, then by leaving the Citadel, and then by backing Jon Snow rather than returning to The Wall. He is now a fugitive twice over. He has crimes to atone for. The deaths of both his father AND his brother makes it doubtful -- in his eyes -- that Daenerys will pardon all of his offenses. Not only is his family's future now in doubt, but it also means that Gilly's and the baby's futures have become uncertain. Didn't Sam try to leave Gilly with his family? As for the throne... I don't think Jon Snow will survive. Nor will Daenerys. My pick for the throne? Sansa and Tyrion. Legally, they are still married. As the episode showed, Sansa actually has some respect for Tyrion. Unfortunately, she believes he has stepped backwards since he left King's Landing. If he were to redeem himself, Sansa might offer to honor their marriage as a political arrangement. Arya takes over Varys' position. Sandor Clegane takes over as Lord Commander of the Kingsguard. Why the Hound? Because he's loyal, and he always protected Sansa. He even protected Arya despite all his cynicism. George R.R. Martin has already stated that the ending is bittersweet. That means some fan favorites are going to die. It also means the throne will likely not fall into the hands of a fan favorite. And yet, somehow there will still be some justice after all. What could be more bittersweet than Sansa and Tyrion taking the throne together after both of their families have been decimated? |

In the brief discussion after the show, Jaime spoke in a way that seemed to make it sound like he realized that his character might need to silence Bran (or something to that effect) but I don't think so. I think Bran will tell him that if that event had not happened, he would not have become what he is today. Maybe they will make peace. Maybe Jaime will offer to push him around for the rest of his life to make up for what he did. He could become Bran's "right hand man."

Sam seemed sad and confused about dad, but seemed to tear up more with his brother. He did care about his father even though he was a _______. I've thought Jon Snow on the iron throne with Dani as his queen. Now that we know she's his aunt, will they care or go with forbidden love? This twist annoys me.. I just want SOMEONE to be happy. (that is if they don't turn into white walkers) Bran is all chilled & mystic now, I can't wait to hear what he says to Jamie also. I predict something like.. I forgive you as it was meant to be. My destiny as the 3 eyed raven. |

I have not seen them all ... because on and off with HBO ...
and what is coming is the last season and all is done right ? I personally like when ...they brought in the white walkers very cool ... all I have seen I have loved ... great writing and all that goes with that ... sets... characters... they have had and gone ... its up there with... Sopranos and Deadwood ... at least for me ... I used to love making fan sites... of certain shows ... really have missed that ... which put in a lot of my creativity ... |

Well...
For this third episode, the horde that ran over the lines of defenders was incredibly loud and barbaric. Yet when the dead were in the library and Arya was there hiding from them, they were more like the Walking Dead from AMC. I am very happy that the Night King was able to teach the horde proper library etiquette! |

Never watch that show.

the whole idea about the movie in this last episode, is clearly mesmerizing, i find it awesome to imagine how, they can successfully combine the two plot of running the kingdom's political matters and still planning against the pending Night King invasion with the army of the dead..

What about failed theories? Anyone want to post the theories they thought might come true but didn't?
I always thought that Meera was Jon's twin (I still do). Ser Howland Reed will figure into the mix somewhere! He and Ned were TOO CLOSE! The theory was that there were actually TWO babies in the tower, Ned took one and Reed took the other. Now that the army was decimated (worse, actually), Reed could show up to bolster the forces headed south to meet Cersi. Dany dies and Ser Howland Reed says "Only a Targaryen can ride a dragon, Jon and Meera can take it from here..." Had to put that out there in case it happens, lol!!!! |

The only failed theory I can recall is from a rumor...
That an ice dragon had been trapped inside The Wall. According to the theory, the breaching of The Wall would have undid the magic holding the ice dragon, allowing it to be freed, and to join The Night King. Instead, The Night King created his own ice dragon by stealing one of Daenerys'. Which brings up another failed theory, though not one of my own. That would be the third dragon rider. There were many theories: Tyrion, Arya, Bran, etc. Personally, I never could figure out who the third rider would be. You see, the dragons were somewhat color-coded. Dany's dragon was black and red, the colors of House Targaryen. Another was white and blue, the colors of House Stark, which always seemed to hint towards Jon Snow. The third was green and bronze. I could never find anyone or any family who utilized those two colors. Well, it seems that Jon rode the green and bronze, while The Night King rode the white and blue. My guess is that was a deliberate curveball placed by the author George R.R. Martin. |
