Well you live in NY take her for a romantic ride through Central Park ( if they still do that laugh ) then to a nice romantic dinner. Just don't buy anything like clothes or perfumes. Anything that can have her either wondering if you don't like how she dresses or smells. And buying at VS she might think you just want her for one thing and one thing only.

A diamond tennis bracelet.

So YOU'RE the one who won't kiss this guy...that's mean lol.

No rings, no jewlery unless it's a pretty cheap but cool looking piece. I think the best gifts are the gifts that show you've listened to her, perhaps she's mentioned something she likes.

Victoria Secrets is awesome lol. Yes it's a gift for you but it is a gift for her as well. But it's more of a after you've had sex type gift I think, otherwise she might take it as pressure for sex. But lingerie's great, makes a girl feel sexy and I think it loosens up inhibitions, like it allows her to be in a fantasy.

Hmm mix a cd for her? Make a meal for her? some socks perhaps lol.

A gift should depend on the girl and how you feel about her -- but you can't go wrong with sending flowers and taking her out for some fine dining.

Oh oh oh for one of my ex girlfriends I made her a mix CD for her birthday. Music is very important to me so I just thought I'd brainwash her with some of my musical tastes
She's also into writing so I got her a cool little journal with some design on it I forgot.
A lot further into our relationship my birthday came up and she did the sweetest thing ever: she made a booklet of memories from all our past dates, like ticket stubs, pamphlet from this baroque symphony we went to, game cards, etc. She put a picture of her that I liked on the cover and she wrote little notes of love and appreciation inside it
Oh man she was such a sweetheart
...and really hot too laugh

I have an awesome idea for a gift but it's definately for a later relationship type gift but it takes a lot of prep.

Get a dvd camcorder and just use it quite a bit throughout the relationship and then once you've been together for a long time (assuming you get to that point) edit it, add music or whatever and make a dvd.

LOL funny, I'm talking after marriage type relationship though. And I'm more interested in finding one than the game but got to learn a little game to find the one. My objective probably would've been to get laid when I was in college, now I'm onto the family thing.

i must agree with the ladies on this one....VS body lotion scents is a great first present. They also have perfumes... Very Sexy for Her...smells awesome! Add a bouquet of flowers (not roses) and you should be set! Good luck and let us know what you got her...along with the outcome!

I say for a new relationship, flowers. It would be even better if you gave them to her during work in front of her co-workers and customers. That is what I did and she absolutely LOVED IT!

I've always had success with service gifts. Put on some music that she likes and make a meal that she'll enjoy. Buy her a movie that she wants and watch it with her after dinner. Give her a foot rub. Basically, give her a romantic evening that is 100% about her and the things that she likes.

Goofy IS expensive, but she is worth it!

Great idea on the CD, Geek!

Flowers are work are always a good idea, too!

The first gift I got from my beau was a Swiss Army Knife. Sounds un-romantic, but I use the heck out of it. It is really cute and has a flower pattern on it.

Let us know what you decide.

I'm gonna agree with Pixie. X-nay on the gifts. Go for a special evening out. If you are "financially challenged" find things to do that don't require much money but are still enjoyable (or what she would find enjoyable). Make a half day or day of it.

How "new" are we talking here? Three weeks? Two Months? Longer?

Ok...didn't see your post, ephraimglass. You nailed it...sans buying her a movie. A day all about her will go over VERY well and it isn't too bad on your wallet either.

Nobody is worth a diamond tennis bracelet after 1 month and no kisses. Unless you're excessively rich and find diamonds to be cheap, or you're that Nigerian who has a diamond mine yet can't come up with 1000 bucks to free up your fortune.
