Topic: Good Video Editor? | |
---|---|
Does anyone know a good video editor for PC, so NOT for Android?
I've been looking into this for yonks, and I cannot find anything decent. I do not want to pay top dollar, but also don't want to sod around with slow limited versions or freeware versions that take 2hrs to convert a project into avi or MP4 etc. I thought I'd found IT with VSDC, promoted that you can do everything with the free version. Yeah right... You can NOT convert it into a usable file so what's the effing point? I wasted my entire evening, and my mood. It isn't expensive to go Pro, but... it's a subscription, not buying a license and you're done. And by subscribing you automatically authorize them to charge your PayPal or credit card each time (how often 'each time' is? Not a clue). Sod that... So now I'm stuck again I don't need very fancy. Just able to add text to vids, music (background but likely just an intro) and the ability to put 2 shorts vids together as one, and if need by cut pieces out. No watermarks... It's mostly for my YouTube channel, looks very 'amateur' with watermark. And of course a decent export format that is YouTube compatible. My phone doesn't do half bad recordings but I usually don't record in full HD but 720 HD to save on storage space. And the sound is stunning (Huawei cannot-remember-the-type, hihi) Anywho, if you know something that actually works, INCLUDING the export part, no watermarks, please let me know!! |

They are a good group of people the helped me and I am sure they can help you. Hope it is okay to post the link to help you. If not message me and I will give you the link in a private message.

Personally, I like free.
I'm sure there are best editors out there that cost a few hundred dollars but free is free, ya know? http://www.techsupportalert.com/best-free-video-editing-program.htm Gizmo's Freeware offers a list of the best and gives reviews and list positive and negative assessments. Plus, you can click on and read their full review or go to the manufacturer's (author's) website. Here are some clips from the page I linked you to. Hopefully they might end up on the main list if my final reviews have found them to be amongst one of the best. Wow, thank you, Tom!
I'll look into it, for now maybe just a free video cutter & joiner, as currently I need to join 2 vids, then I can upload. I don't mind freeware either, but sometimes it falls terribly short. If I find something I'm first going to see if it can export/convert it, hihi. |

Hi, There are two different types of video editors out there. I will spare you the difference because if you don't know chances are you don't need anything too complex.
The best simple one is OPEN SHOT from https://www.openshot.org. It is the best for simple type stuff but also fast and free. Hope this helps |

I can also recommend OpenShot Video Editor. It's quite simple to use, and it's free.
It runs on Windows, Linux, Mac. I used it for creating a video from pictures and added background sound. You can also add additional timelines , i. e.: one for still images, one for videos, another for backgrund sound, and then rearrange them simply by dragging around at the timeline. You have a choice of several blending funktions, and you can export in many different formats. How it works: https://www.openshot.org/videos/ Because it's freeware you also find a lot of tutorials at youtube. |

Thank you!
I indeed finished my project with Open Shot, I'd used it before and up to a point it is good. It's just that converting to a usable format takes a long time. Think 2,5 - 3 hours. At first I had difficulty choosing the format to convert, so many options, and I'm not that familiar with it all, but I worked it out. Came across Lightworks on the Gizmo site which is supposed to be really good, going to check that one out as well. I'm hoping to find one with just a few more options, like adding text whenever wherever on the timeline, and conversion that is faster. |
