Does "Never Married" (after a certain age) on a member's profile raise a red flag of caution? While more and more people nowadays are in that category, on the other hand, does it raise serious concern about them being possibly incapable (for a variety of reasons) to enter into a long-term commitment? Would it be a deal-breaker?

It would make me wonder, but it would depend on their reason for never being married. At my age, I'm not sure I would want to get married again. Especially when it comes to social security later on, cohabitating is the better way to have two incomes. If you marry, they cut back on your benefits.

Just because one has never been married doesn't mean they aren't able to commit themselves to a long term relationship..maybe it's the fact that they don't need a ring and a piece of paper in order to do so..I can only speak for myself and I have never been married..and I'm well over 50 yrs..so as far as being a deal breaker..let's just say different strokes for different folks..each one is individual as far as choices..jmo

It could be a red flag, but not always.

I think the issue would be circumstantial for many.
There are legitimate reasons, why some have chosen
not to be married.

Being married would be a red flag for me.

Not necessarily. "Never married" doesn't equal "never been in a committed long term relationship".
But I have to admit that it does make me raise my eyebrows in wonder as for my age group it is odd.

Possibly means a Red Flag , however, he may probably never wanted marriage.

I know a man who's Never been married he is over 60 but has been dating for years and had one long-term livin woman once, that I know of.

He has a new home , nice vehicle. Very good income and in good health.

He also has a part-time housekeeper that keeps his home Nice.
He's very clean cut and clean Man. No animals.

He Never goes Online for dates. He is very secure and picky !!

I believe he is a very self centered person and he really doesn't desire a WIFE.

His friends been married 2x. and 3x a few of them.

Most older people are Divorced or widowed. Not never been married. Over 50.

But some men want to be married but cannot find a wife.

Maybe, but I still thought it odd...

All he could say was he'd never met the right gal...

My cousin married a man, who was 47 and never been married.

She was 51 at that time and she had been divorced for years.

He didn't mind marring a woman a few years older. They been married for years now.

They didn't date Online.

Does "Never Married" (after a certain age) on a member's profile raise a red flag of caution?

Depends on what else it said.
"Never been married, 12 kids, they don't need no dad! They got some! They're my world!"
"Never been married, longest relationship under 2 weeks?"
"Never been married, Occupation: marriage counselor" or, "divorce attorney?"
"Never been married, I believe in friends first!"

If there's not really any qualifying additional information, it doesn't really raise a red flag for me.

All I care about is if I'm attracted to them and if I think it would be worth a moment to talk to them.

I don't feel past results guarantee future returns, unless there is something in the fine print which guarantees a failed return.

While more and more people nowadays are in that category, on the other hand, does it raise serious concern about them being possibly incapable (for a variety of reasons) to enter into a long-term commitment?

No.
I'm not that insecure, to believe that I'm no different than everyone else they've dated therefore all prior experiences they've had with others guarantee my future results with them.

Would it be a deal-breaker?

Not in and of itself.

I'm over 50 and never married.

The woman I love never loved me, and the ones who wanted me didn't appeal to me, for long term shackles and a ball and chain.

I'm still looking for the one.

Should I be discriminated against more than the guy with 2 or 3 failed marriages ?

Surprisingly a lot of women are looking for "husband material". They see an older guy who has never taken the plunge as being damaged goods.

I don't think necessarily it reflects an incapacity. Rather in my view it is a strength of unflinching and uncompromised attitude. One doesn't marry because one doesn't think that someone matches his/her standards. However, reality is bitter. Most people would still unconsciously think that never married is a bad omen
