Topic: Window's Defender ????? Help Plz | |
---|---|
I'm ready to take the baseball bat to this thing. Flippin ads pop up every time I switch a page. I've seen on a previous thread to install Window's Defender but where do I find it? Yes, I am an utter idiot with this stuff. If you dare try to help me, please have extreme patience levels. I have scanned for 2 days, removed files, still doing it.

Don't worry, my rates are reasonable.... I help fix it, you pay me "a sincere thank you" and all is good! |

I am not bright enough to manage my own security LOL so I finally found and installed it (Defender), and the ads stopped. So although it's not the recommended fix here...I did manage after 2 days and countless colorful words to succeed in my stubborn solo pursuit of a fix. Thank you for the offers for help...I only wish I communicate in computerese to benefit from them...which I sadly cannot. It's the thought that counts. |

misswright, remember stopping a problem by installing software does not fix the problem.
This example is what i use to explain such. If a car has rust and you paint over the rust the rust goes away? The rust does not go away but comes back alot worse. So be cautiious when installing software to fix your problems |
|

Kal...good analogy. I wish the truck had rust instead...I could fix that properly LOL
I will take instant satisfaction at this point. I don't plan on keeping this computer much longer anyway. It is ancient and ready for the scrap pile. I'm investing in a laptop! |

GAsp!... how old is the computer? i love people who throw computers away that are "eaten by spy-ware".. a RE-format fixs all these issues.
Buying a laptop? I always recomend buying a 1-2 year old laptop you get them so much cheaper and 1-2 years old are still really nice laptops. 200-300 for one or spend 600-700 for one. DO NOT BUY ""CELERON"" computers. This is the name of the processor it carries, it generates alot more heat and is cheaper. The problem is in laptops heat casues alot of laptops to slow down. i could explain more but trust me on this one =) |

It is a Gateway, probably 10 yrs old. I would say you could have it but I don't know how to take out the guts so that you could not see what I have been up to in these 10 yrs. LOL Kidding...no porn but do have some rather personal writings.
I am going to the Geek Squad I think. No clue what I need...something that can get reception all across the states and take the shock of being on the road. |
