"i was asked by a neighbor to remove the cross from my door because it was insulting to them, i was like, hey, freedom of religion, get over it." A British Airways stewardess lost her job because of a little cross she wore on a necklace ( which was hidden most of the time)So I take it that Christians DO NOT fly BA ? I just don't get these kind of people. Have they nothing better to do? If they don't believe in it, how could it be offensive??? Do we complain when Muslims or others express their faith? Think about it. Part of the problem is Christians generally do not speak out about these sorts of things the way others do. Be aware that there are people trying to change the way Americans live and have lived since the beginning. Make them accountable for their actions publicly, as there seems to be a lack of accountability lately, especially from our politicians. Sorry about the rant. JD no problem JD...thank you for your message and thank you BonnyMiss For posting this lovely thread... It is so sad that in a world that preaches diversity it is really only some types of differences and only certain freedoms that are backed and promoted... |

Nice write Just remember Dec 25th was another holiday before Christians adopted it and Christians do not have the monopoly on the Date December 25th. Other than that enjoy the holiday and make sure your family traditions continue as always, noone want to take those from you.

WITHOUT PREJUDICE
I do not care who celebrates what and on what date, I welcome each and everyone sticking to their beliefs and if they so desire to share it with those who want to join in. I invite my Indian friends to share Christmas meals with me and I go to their homes to celebrate the festival of lights, now if only these damned politicians can gather round their oval mahogany table in their ivory towers and take a leaf out of the ordinary mans' book and teach by example.George Orwell was right ! Punz, good morning sweetie Good morning Pam...............any more hot poems looming ? |

I agree one hundred percent, without prejudice means no religion in government period and I back that one hundred and ten percent. Keep it out of the government and in the home and all are respected without prejudice. Enjoy your holidays, they are the time for families to converge and warmth and sharing |

Well just thought I'd add this story for us Christians out there...It ends very well...so have patience...
I work at an amusement park in Ohio, we have Snoopy figurines that say Merry Christmas on them. Well...we were getting prepared for the winter season and sending the Christmas stuff to the indoor waterpark that is open all year round and a gentlemen, who had been very nice to work with, said that Christmas was spelled wrong on some items...I came over to look, wondering maybe it had been...I looked at it closely and no, it was spelled correctly...I said so and in not really a bad way, just a curious way, he asked is it spelled with the 't' because of Him...and he covered up 'mas' on it. I said yes... The guy said no one celebrates it that way anymore... I said I do...my family and I celebrate Christ's birthday...even though we don't know exactly when such date happened...we celebrate His birthday on that day...and everything that represents... The guy and I kind of dropped the subject because somebody came and asked me about something... BUT... Two days later, everyone was gone and processed out for the season...I had stayed a little later that day to help my manager with some final things... The guy was passing by the store we had been in, noticed the door open and notice me standing there... He was with another fellow employee and they stopped to say good bye a bit...during that time my manager came back in and he talked with her about coming for set up the following year,I was happy to hear this because he had been a good employee and a good person to work with... Okay getting to the good part... Well he stayed, the other employee he'd been with had already started heading up to the front of the park, and once my manager left he said he wanted to tell me something... He wanted to congratulate me and thank me for not being afraid of expressing my views. Saying that I hadn't known him that well yet I still expressed how I felt.... So that made me feel so good and I thanked him...and then God for having the guy tell me this.... I don't force my religion on anyone...I am who I am and to me my Faith is for me...I'll express my views and won't do it to change people's lives...its just me...I have a lot of friends who aren't Christian and in my belief system ...well thats a whole nother story.... But I do thank God every time I think about that story.... Merry Christmas Everyone! |
