It would be nice to have a mingle gathering. I just think most of those I would actual want to meet are too far away. Heck Texas is it's own country practically by it's pure size.

yep, Texas is huge no matter which direction you want to travel. You don't realize how big it is until you try to drive from border to border. Hard to do in one day!

Long ago they used to have Mingle meets. It wasn't official, just members getting together somewhere. I've thought about doing one but never have. Maybe I'll plan something in the future, IDK.

If there was more forum participation from the member base, meet events could be set up in the individual location listings.
Like cross posting a meet in the Mississippi, Alabama & Louisiana sections for a meet somewhere in the middle.

Problem is, the forums are too sparsely populated to reach many people.
Plus, I know I only see the Mississippi section posts. People would need to 'edit to view' the other locations in their areas.

I have seen events on other sites (not dating sites) and considered going to a few (mostly genre conventions) but never was able.

One example of a possible meet that could happen in the general discussion forum is the Cruizin The Coast event that happens in Mississippi every year. Its basically, 50 miles of car show. People come from all over the world to this event every year.
It would be a simple thing to pick a spot to meet.

It is getting the message out without specific support from the site. I guess you could put in a suggestion for something along that line. All it would need to do is provide when, where, and the venue. Perhaps an email notice from Mingle2 about it would work and then a link to the forum post for the event. You could just put a thread in the local states group but very few people would see it. I assume Mingle2 already has a program for them to send out group messages.

Just to name a few . I m planning vacations and home improvements so NO meet ups for me especially when everyone pays thier Own. Plus I am Dating.on occasion.

It would be interesting to do one for my area. I see so few in the forums from around here that it could be interesting to see if anyone would actually show up.

Pof used to have an events page where meets were setup by anyone that wanted to organize one. I went to a couple of those many years ago. They were fun. I also think there were many more locals then I have found on here. I don't think they have that anymore nor the forums they use to have.
