this one of the reason i cant have a g/f cuz most of my friends are girls.. and anyone i date always have a problem with it.. just cant stand drama.. id be perfectly fine with it, in fact ive been in the situtation not married but a 2 year relationship where the girl had mostly guy friends and i had mostly girl friends and we were fine.. we broke up because we both had different dreams and goals than the other, but we are bestfriends.

Hawaii, I think it's possible, with the right people and the right balance. You have to have complete trust and have to be secure enough in yourself and your relationship for it to work. Also, best friend or not, your marriage or relationship should come first, if you're spending too much time with the best friend, I think it would cause problems.

Could I handle it, I don't know, if the above were true, probably. I'm pretty secure but, still, not sure.

One of my best friends is someone I had a fairly long and involved relationship with some years back. She's married now and has two kids, her husband is just about the best guy in the world, and nobody has any issues with any of it.

I'd say that it can be done on both sides "IF" you and the other are completely open on what goes on in life. Don't hide details of the get-togethers. Lies lead to jealousy and mistrust.

I know of some guys who make their "female" friends toooo much of a friend....calling them whenever he has a prob or whatever.....no sex involved...but even so...it irritates their wives/g/fs...happy

I've always had more lady friends that men friends. It's just how I'm made. I am more emotional. When I was married, my wife was able to accept my friends. But then again, I didn't spend much time with them because I was in Cleveland and they were in Atlanta. I guess it just depends on each person and the way I see it, if someone expects you not to have ANY opposite sex friends, then they had better be ready and able to meet ALL of your needs for friendship, intimacy, and companionship. In other words, if you give up one friend, you're going to need another to take her place. Make any sense?

I dont have this prob....but i think there is fine line where female friends of a husband or b/f needs to be respected and feelings should be considered..

"Plutonic"? As from the non-planet Pluto? No, I don't think it's possible as there are no lifeforms currently active on that particular chunk of space ice.

I think it is possible, I have a couple of really good girl friends that are just friends and we hang out or whatever.. If my significant other had a best friend of the opposite sex what would I do? I wouldnt show jealousy, I Tell myself "she can do what she wants", She is going to come home to me at night, so why worry.. You have to have trust in a relationship and if you dont have that, then Get out!

Plutonic could also refer to someone coming from the Roman gods' Underworld. I don't have any Roman Underworld friends though.

Yes, I forgot about that. I do have male friends from that particular location, so I would have to say, yes, it's possible.
