Topic: Barefoot Lovin' Or Loathing? | |

As a kid, I hated shoes. I was barefoot, even in the snow sometimes.
During my working life, I felt like I had to wear steel-toed boots all the time. I absolutely hated it. My feet were so tender. Now, I'm barefoot most of the time again. The beach is where I put on my water shoes because the sand gets just too damn hot for me anymore. I wear Jesus Slippers (leather sandals) most of the year. I have a pair of tenny runners (7 years and barely any wear) and one pair of hiking boots (10+ years and still like new). In the winter, my piggies get cold cause there is very little insulation in the floors so I wear heavy socks sometimes. Doc told me that I have to wear something on my feet at all times because of my diabetes and I was... NO FREAKIN WAY. |

Coachmen on planes? Shoes for diabetes?
Not harming the bark, love it It's a nice philosophy/allegory. I always liked performers who performed barefoot, such as the singer in lynard skynard. Almost as if you don't want to break the connection between you and the earth. As you act as a conduit for divine inspiration and feeling. I now want to climb a tree barefoot, and eat jam sandwiches from its branches, whilst gently mocking, the shoe wearing people. |

It depends on where I am and how cold it is outside. At the beach and in my own yard I love being barefooted. I usually go barefooted on a boat too. It definitely is all about weather and location not forgetting a certain level of privacy and comfort too My own yard has more to do with safety than privacy. Another place I go barefooted is on the dance floor. It's difficult to find a place that allows it, but when I do it's awesome... dancing barefooted is the only way to dance! |

I live in a house with all wood floors. I've had a couple of drinking glasses that have fallen and completely shattered on the floor. It's hard to pick up every piece of glass, so I'm not walking barefoot on that.

I used to walk barefoot out to the mailbox some mornings. And I will tell you this
If I find out which guy neighbor is letting his dog s*it next to my mailbox, I am going to punch him in the face. |

It feels like I walk barefoot on a cloud when chatting with a good friend.

I'm also diabetic and learned the hard way to never go barefoot as any medic will tell you!
Where I live now this isn't the case but starting a couple hundred miles west I always wear boots; the taller the better since there are rattlesnakes! Had a small ranch for about 8 years and in that time we averaged killing 47 snakes a year. Also grew up in snake country and you don't want to be bitten. Of course if you never go to the country you're pretty safe.......mostly. |
