*Distant Relatives*

Its sad to say but sometimes
Families just don’t get along-
You’ve got a hardheaded brother
With opinions way too strong.

Or maybe your dad smacked you
‘Til you were black n blue
And just being around old Uncle Joe
Is too difficult to get thru.

Everybody’s been there-
There’s one in every clan
Some big mouth in the family
Thinking he’s become a man.

Or busy body Ethels’ house
Where all the ladies meet
On Wednesday night for coffee
Commenting on a neighbors defeat.

You gotta love em to a point-
Cause you know that they are kin
But you don’t have to like
All the trouble they get in

That’s why I am not so close
In proximity where I live
To any of my family
--I like Distant relatives!

I live those words you write. I have the kind of
family that is scattered to the four winds-
FOR A REASON!!!
I had prayed to God to reunite me with my family last year.
He granted that prayer. I learned to be careful what you
pray for.

Yeah that kinda hit me really good about an hour ago. My brother was
just pretty snaughty to me today and I thought man he better be glad he
lives so far away cuz Id go kick his ass!!LOL
Im still his BIG sister ;)

My family is about as close to cannibals as you can get.
We don't mix very well.

The Old Man Nov. 15, 2006

There was an old man who worked all his life,
He did every thing that he could-
An odd job here and a favor there
He did lots of things nobody would;

He’d help the old ladies in his neighborhood
And mow some lawns or haul trash.-
Most of his time he spent looking
For things to do tho’ no one had asked

He lived his life as best he could,
Treating others decent and kind;
Though the rumors flew about him-
He ignored them and he didn’t mind.

But one day alas the man died,
A simple man in a simple grave.
But the town bought him a stone=
To mark the place where he lay.

No one really knew him, other than by his deeds
No words at his funeral were said-
A simple stone that some one picked out,
And very simply it read…

“Here Lies everybody’s friend
He did everything he could do…
But it was his time to go home-
For even God needs helpers too”

I Was Taken In, By Your Beauty And Finesse
I Hoped We Would Click By Our Similar Ticks, One Would Guess
The Talks We Had, The Laughs and Smiles We Shared
One Would Think We Had Distinct Eyes.....And At Each Other We Stared
The Heavy Conversation To The Point Of No End
We Figure There Isn’t Quite Enough Time For Us To Spend
Thinking Of Each Other Day In And Out
Wondering If The Time Was Wasted, Wondering What Thoughts Were About

I Was Taken In And Thought Things Were Great
I Didn’t Know It Would Come Down To A Debate
When I Saw You Changed Your Will And Still You Lesson You Conversation
Day By Day
You Tell Me Words That Hurt Inside And My Heart Feels Decay
You May Think The Words Are Right But Try To Hide It All
