Topic: UK MP: Women have it easier now.. | |
---|---|
Women now have it easier than men but still 'whinge' about inequality, Ann Widdecombe has said.
The former Tory MP, 70, said that while feminists in the 1970s called for equal pay, nowadays women make 'pathetic whines for special privileges'. Writing in Radio Times, she said: 'Women have never had it so good. We have a woman Prime Minister (again) and a woman in charge of the Metropolitan Police; and we have women chief executives, women judges, women running media. 'Here a woman, there a woman – but everywhere a bleat, bleat. It's the age of the whine and the whinge, of the moan and the groan. And, oh, do the women know how to milk that for all it's worth, while the men, poor wimps, stand by and meekly watch.' https://www.dailymail.co.uk/femail/article-6203539/Former-MP-Ann-Widdecombe-says-todays-women-making-pathetic-whines-special-privileges.html The whine and the Whings, The moan and the Groan The mee and the Mee toos Men, you are Corn |

In everyday life women have it harder than men. After working 43 hours in 4 days, I cut grass, trimmed trees, washed 2 cars, and scraped paint off an outbuilding to get it ready to paint. I do as much around the house as I can because I make less than most men and On a budget. On top of that I have a child I'm raising which requires me to do laundry, grocery shopping, taxi, etc. I also went to see my grandson in the parade and to his football game. My 3 days off lol.

Oh, and elves and gremlins come do all of my housework? Aside from the grandkids that I don't have, my days sound like yours. None of my dogs have learned to push the vacuum cleaner. And I cook for myself, because going out to eat is too expensive.

I dont get the point of such a statement. it seems as pointless as saying women die in childbirth. It is true, but does that somehow make the deaths less of an issue to be dealt with?
you can take any group, over time, and say they have it easier 'now'. but that does not mean that it is as 'easy' as it should be or as 'easy' as others have it. I mean, a stripper may have it easier than when she did porn, but neither is an ideal to strive or settle for. |

They might work and cut grass (expected) but none of the rest. Women have been taking on both roles for decades. Men's work loads keep getting smaller. They work, eat at fast food, pay to have their grass cut and car washed (if they have those things lol). |

How many men here are raising children? Cleaning up after yourself isn't the same as taking care of a family. The men are talking more about housework than yardwork or home projects. |

Men, you are Corn
I ear that. Time to saccharata up. It's such a detassle, all this whinging, and stalk about ecoblity. Zea mays really need to pop all this nonsense, and ignore the complainers and those of their silk. We really should hold these troots to be self evident, that carallmel people are created equal victims. Or maybe we need more safe spaces and time to write in our personal kernels. It's amaizeing and punny how things don't change. Used to be "my generation walked through 18 feet of snow, uphill, both ways! this generation is just a bunch of pansies! we knew hard work and adversity!" Indiana! |

Women are buying homes at twice the rate of men, Even though women have less income. Head household has shifted to the duty of the woman. It's time our jobs pay the same as men's. Men have a family to support use t9 be the excuse. Women's jobs were looked at as spending money. Which I don't believe was the case back then.

Who was it that said something about all the fuss made over Fred Astaire, even though Ginger had to do everything he did backwards and in heels?
yeah, that pretty much sums up what I feel about how silly it is to say women have it easier, if by easier, it is meant 'easier than men' |
