| Topic: ¿Who will go the distance? | |

Surely some of you must have thought of it. ¿What if you meet someone on here that lives at a great distance? Flying out to visit them is one thing but it's another thing to pick up your whole life to spend it with that person. Some of us have issues or commitments, whether it's family, medical, school, work, etc. because of it some of us are not as inclined to move our whole lives.
So... ¿Who out there is willing AND able to make such a move for someone whom you may feel is the love of your life? |

Some of us have issues or commitments, whether it's family, medical, school, work, etc. because of it some of us are not as inclined to move our whole lives. Welcome to my life... in process of relocating from Illinois to Arizona... and then probably Cali depending on his orders... It was a huge decision... to relocate. I have to go through the courts here in IL to get permission to move with my kids (dad is not involved)... and I was born and raised here, so I'm going into a whole new environment. All-in-all... I think the change will be good. It will take some adjusting... but I'd rather start a new life with him rather than live this one I have currently without him. He has 2 more years of active duty (Navy)... so he can't come here... sure there's a lot of sacrifice involved on my part, for now... but the end result will be entirely worth it.

Hey Capt,
I met my wife on here. She flew in to WA and we got married in Portland OR. Then she flew back to MI on Sunday. She is going to be moving here in the summer b/c of our boys.. I call them our b/c I love them too. We both thought it would be best for them to come during the summer... Love allows us the courage to do things we may never have had the courage to try before.... IMHO |

I'll admit, at first, I wasn't willing to move. My roots and family and support system are all here in Illinois.
BUT the more I got to know him, the more I knew there was nowhere else on earth that I'd belong. We are getting married in March. It will be hard to leave all of this behind. But he is worth it... and I adore his family (they are in Arizona).... I know I am making the right choice... even though I know there will be adjustments and learning to do... my fiance and I know it will not always be sunshine and rainbows... but we've gone through hell and back together... we can survive anything. |

well...i got out of a 6year relationship because of this. the guy i was dating wanted me to move his home GERMANY to start a new life. he pushed me to choose him over my family.
i have no problem with starting a new life somewhere, BUT...making me CHOOSE...forget it! i think that as long as you both agree and come to terms with things...take a chance and make it happen...just don't force it on eachother because you might regret it in the end! |

I have a question... Didn't ya'll discuss this before getting really serious? As for Forcing it upon another I agree.. Hence communication is indeed the key.. |
